(Jonathan POV)
I stand in the elevator, waiting for it to make its way up to the third floor, leading me to the room number written in the message that Yore had given me a few hours ago.
Honestly, knowing I'm this close to her in real life makes me want to call her by her real name, not Yore, but she hasn't even told me that yet.
The elevator door finally opens, revealing the floor that I'm about to meet my childhood best friend on in real life.
I take a deep breath. I'm not sure what's making me nervous, because I've been friends with her for years, but I can't really grasp the thought of meeting her in real life.
Her face? I can't hold one picture, there's so many possibilities. I know she has brown hair, because she told me, I know she has dark eyes, but I don't know the colour.
My feet pull up in front of her door. This is it.
I've met a few people from the streaming community, first Frankie, then Acey and a few others. I still haven't met Mendez, but I'm planning on meeting him this year.
The door creaks open a bit and I see a grey and black cat walk out the crack in the door. It circles around my feet and I look up to see a pair of sparkly brown eyes peeking out of the crack in the door. They shoot away when we make eye contact.
"Close your eyes." The voice says, more clear and feminine than through the mic and headset I usually hear it from. I immediately follow the instructions and shut my eyes.
"Okay, now don't open your eyes."
I listen again and the girl places her hands on my shoulders, steering me into the apartment. Even though I can't see, I feel a sensation of trust, and I know that I'm not going to crash into anything.
I hear a few sounds of shuffling and the hands on my shoulders are gone.
"Sit down." The voice says, and I immediately fall onto a comfortable couch, probably more comfortable than mine.
I feel the urge to open my eyes, but I keep them closed anyway. I hear a bit more shuffling and the sound of a door closing before I hear somebody sit on a couch across from me.
"It's kind of funny that you're just sitting there."
It's like I'm hearing Yore's voice for the first time in my life. She laughs.
"What if I just leave you there? What if I never tell you to open your eyes?" She laughs again and I feel another urge to burst my eyes open and see her face.
I shrug, at a loss for words.
"Are you even going to talk, or am I just going to sit here? Okay, if you don't talk, you don't open your eyes."
Her voice... It's almost as if it's enchanting me, putting me into a state where I don't have control over my own words.
I blurt out some kind of sound, not English, but something. I hear her laugh again.
"Aghhhh! I kind of just want you to stay here, and never see my face." She stops. "But that's not fair. You can open your eyes now."
I open my eyes and see a girl, my same age, with shoulder-length brown hair that curves out right under her ears and then back in on her shoulders. She has sparkling brown eyes and shockingly clear skin. She sits wearing overalls on top of a giant sweater, with a familiar looking cat curled up on her lap.
"Yore!!" I shout out of excitement, half of me wanting to cry. It's like a new era in my life has just begun.
"Call me Wyyen. Now that we're actually friends." She laughs, and I feel shocked. Her name isn't Audrey or Ellah, or anything out of a disney movie. It was Wyyen.
