(Wyyen POV)
"Shut up, Acey. Okay chat, bye! I think I'll be streaming tomorrow so check back in when you can. I'm raiding Payatos so go enjoy and give him some love. Say hi to him for me! Bye!!"
I end the stream and exit all my tabs. "Hahhh."
I sigh, banging my hand on the desk, temporarily bruising it.
"Ow."
My cup of apple juice spills and I rest my head on my desk.
A knock comes from my front door. It's probably Joey. I think. Crap. I bet he heard the banging and thought something was wrong.
I don't blame him, because for sure not everything's alright.
Since Jonathan left about three days ago I haven't been feeling very well. It might be my body's coping mechanism, but I can't help feeling like I just want to hear him laugh in the other room in my apartment.
I do miss him a lot, and I haven't heard from him since he left. He sent and posted some photos from our meetup online, but he hasn't streamed or texted me besides that and it's made me kind of worried.
"Wyyen?" I hear Joey from the living room.
He has my extra key, so I don't lose it, because I lose my key a lot and I always know where it is when it's with him. And because I'm too lazy to keep opening the door for him because he's over a lot.
Crap. I stumble out of my chair to the door, nearly tripping on Sushi on my way out.
Joey is allowed in all my rooms except this one. He doesn't know that I stream, so if he finds out I have a stream room, he'd probably figure it out.
"Oh, Joey. Sorry."
He looks over my head down the hallway and back at me. "You good? I heard some, like, crashing or something."
"Oh. Yeah. Sorry. Just fell out of my chair. I fell asleep, in my chair. And then I fell out of my chair."
I'm always worried that he hears me when I'm streaming, because his bedroom is directly against the wall. I have some silencers that hopefully help, but he heard my fist hit the table so I'm sure he hears some things.
He furrows his brows and shrugs. "If you say so. I'm hungry. Wanna go grab something?"
Like a date? Is my first thought. No. Stop. That's creepy. He's just your friend. Don't think that way.
I shrug. "Why not?"
He smiles and we head to his car. We drive to the same place that me and Jonathan got milkshakes a few days ago. I didn't know that Joey liked the place, but clearly he does, since we're driving up to the parking lot.
"You like this place?" He asks.
"Yeah." I respond, my voice kind of shaky. "It's my favourite."
Joey smiles and then looks at me. "You alright?" He asks, noticing my change in behaviour. I nod, not wanting him to worry about me. He was doing me a favour anyway.
"Yeah. Just a headache. I'm sure the milkshakes will help." I laugh. It wasn't a lie. I was getting a headache thinking about Jonathan. I really hope he's okay.
Joey and I walk inside and order. We sit down in the corner with cushioned seats. Joey looks at me questioningly and taps his fingers on the table.
"Are you sure you're okay? You've been acting weird lately."
Part of me wants to tell him, because he's my go-to guy for venting my problems, but the other part of me is anxious that if he looks into it too much he'll find out I'm a streamer, or he'll just feel bad that I'm hiding something from him.
