Chapter 18- Are You Doing Good? Or Bad?
"Good morning, citizens of Republic City. This is Amon," You awoke to the sound of a male. Groggily looking to see the radio, and Amon was speaking through.
"I hope you all enjoyed last night's pro-bending match, because it will be the last. It's time for this city to stop worshiping bending athletes as if they were heroes," You hissed at the radio and carefully listened in.
"I am calling on the council to shut down the bending arena and cancel the finals, or else there will be severe consequences," You looked at Korra, Mako, and Bolin, who had worried looks on their faces.
"That guy's got some nerve," Bolin scoffed.
"You think the council will give in?" Mako asked Korra, who cracked her knuckles."I'm not waiting to find out. We need to get to City Hall,"

Your four rode Naga through the city, and skidded to stop at the city hall. Racing down the hall, Korra slammed the door open, where the Counsel and Tenzin were.
"Korra, you shouldn't be here. This is a closed meeting,""As the Avatar and a pro-bending player, I have a right to be heard. You can't cancel the finals," Korra argued.
"I know winning the championship means a lot to you. But as far as I'm concerned, we need to shut the arena down," Tenzin told the four of you."What about the rest of you? Tarrlok, there's no way you're backing down from Amon, right?" Korra pleaded.
"Actually, Tenzin and I agree for once," Tarrlok sadly said.
"The council is unanimous. We're closing the arena," Tenzin declared."No!" Mako shouted.
"You can't!" Bolin pleaded. You gave a slight growl at them, but Korra placed a hand on your head to calm you down.
"I-I don't understand. I thought you, of all people, would take a stand against Amon," Korra pointed out."While I am still committed to bringing that lunatic to justice, I will not put innocent lives at stake just so you and your friends can play a game," Tarrlok firmly said, which had you walk forward.
"If you can't listen to the Avatar, listen to a spirit!" You stated, a determined look."Little One-," Tenzin began, but you finally shook your head at him.
"From my time staying in this human world, entertainment is the only thing that keeps humans from going in a spiral of fear and hatred!" You sternly told them."Pro-bending is the only game, the only entertainment that doesn't have humans hate one another, it brings both benders and non-benders as one! watching benders-," Bolin also piped up.
"Beat each other up! In peace! It's an inspiration to everyone!" He smiled with a fist in the air."I appreciate your naive idealism, but you're ignoring the reality of the situation," Tarrlok lifted his gavel.
"The reality is if you close the arena, you let Amon win!" Korra snarled.
"Yes, exactly what she said! Yes!" Bolin smiled hopefully."I'm sorry, but our decision has been made. This meeting is adjourned," Just as Tarrlok was about to confirm the decision, your ears twitched as you heard a whirring behind you. You ducked as a metal wire smashed the gavel.
You all turned to see Lin Beifong bringing back the wire.
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with the Avatar and the Spirit," She told everyone.
"You do?" Tarrlok raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, you do?" You smiled, tail wagging."I expected this kind of cut-and-run response from Tenzin. But the rest of you? Come on, show a little more backbone. It's time that the benders of this city displayed some strength and unity against these Equalists," Lin placed her hands on her hip.
"We must prevent the conflict between benders and nonbenders from escalating into all-out war! The council is not changing its position, Lin," Tenzin argued with the chief.
"Now just a moment, Tenzin. Let us hear what our esteemed Chief of Police has in mind," Tarrlok gave a smile, a sneaky one.
"If you keep the arena open, my metalbenders and I will provide extra security during the championship match. There's no better force to deal with the chi-blockers. Our armor is impervious to their attacks," Lin explained."Are you saying that you will personally take responsibility for the safety of the spectators in the arena?" Tarrlok tilted his head slightly.
"I guarantee it," She promised, making you and the others look at each other with hope"It is hard to argue with Chief Beifong's track record. If she is confident her elite officers can protect the arena, then she has my support. I am changing my vote. Who else is with me?" The other counsels raised their hands, confirming the decision.
"The arena stays open. Good luck in the finals," You four cheered as Tenzin got up to leave. Korra turned to you and gave you an amused grin.
"Look at you, standing against your Sifu," She teased, making you embarrassed."You do that all the time!"

"There they are," You tugged Korra's arm and pointed to where the two benders were talking.
"Excuse me, Chief Beifong. I wanted to thank you for your help, it... really... means a lot...," You and Korra walked towards Tenzin and Lin, where the chief simply walked passed you both.
"What is her deal? Even when she's on our side, she's against us!" Korra whined.
"'ve known Lin since we were children, she's always been... challenging," Tenzin carefully said."What did your father do to make her hate the Avatar so much?" Korra asked him.
"And did a spirit threw her into a river or something?" You piped in, raising an eyebrow.
"My father and Lin got along famously. I'm afraid her issues... are with me," Tenzin sighed. You and Korra looked at each other, thinking for a moment until you both gasped.
"Wait a second... it all makes sense now!" Korra grin, with you giggling mischievously.
"Dots are connecting!" You pointed at Tenzin."You and Beifong, Beifong and you. You two were a couple!" Korra declared, and Tenzin's reaction proved you both right.
"What! How-? Where'd you get that idea?" He panically asked you two.
"Ha! Your wife," Korra smirked."Criminy! I'll have to have a word with her," Tenzin rubbed his face tiredly.
"So... Pema stole you from Beifong. I'm surprised our "esteemed Chief of Police" didn't throw her in jail," Korra crossed her arms.
"Sounds like a play I would watch with my Spirit Sifus," You smiled."Oh, she tried. Anyway, Pema didn't steal me, Lin and I had been growing apart for some time. We both had different goals in li- Why am I even telling you this?" Tenzin snapped out of his words and glared at you and Korra.
"It all happened a long time ago and we've moved passed it," He firmly said."Hm, apparently Beifong hasn't," Korra raised an eyebrow.
"You'd be surprised how powerful a grudge will remain in your mind," You snickered.
"What do you... Of course she has! Anyway, this is none of your business!" Tenzin groaned and turn to briskly walk away."See you at home, Mr. Heartbreaker!" Korra called out, just as Tenzin lowered his head in embarrassment.
"Love triangles are weird. I mean, why can't they all love each other?" You shook your head."I'm afraid love can't be like that?" Korra shrugged and led you away.
"And how would you know?" You raised an eyebrow at her. She opened her mouth to speak, but stopped."Touché,"
