'Tine?' I couldnt hide my surprised face seeing him.
He kept my order on the table and looked at me again.
'H-Hey. I didnt think I would meet you here. How come you are here and that too this time?', he asked looking at his watch on his left wrist.
'I left the office early as I had no important work in the office today and saw this cafe while walking down the streets.'
' You work nearby? I have never seen you before in this area.' He said curiously.
'Why dont you sit first and then we can have a chat?'
' I need to attend a few customers first. We can talk after that? My friend will be here soon.'
' I will wait then. you can do your work'.
He gave me a faint smile and left the table to attend the customers. I sipped on my coffee without taking my eyes off him. He was smiling and politely talking to customers while he served them their orders. I cant help but stare at him and his actions. Does he work here? But what about his job at the publishing company? Again my mind got tangled with my rhetorical questions. The Tine I used to know was simple to read. But the present Tine is complex i guess. The more I get to know him, the more questions I have about him. Thinking of which, I have barely seen him smile, except for the few times he gave his fake smile. I feel like my Tine is long lost and the Tine I got engaged to is a completely different person.
After ten minutes I saw a man talking to my Tine. Tine was smiling genuinely at him, showing his bunny teeth. They seem pretty close. The man was saying something and Tine suddenly starting laughing. Its time in eight years that I am seeing him laugh. I couldnt help but smile seeing my bunny smile and laugh. But there was an ache in my heart knowing that I am not even a close reason that he is having a good time.
I saw him coming towards my table after he finished talking with his friend. the table I was sitting in was in a corner of the cafe and gave us privacy. He placed some macarons on the table and sat on the chair opposite mine.
'Have some macarons, our cafe is best known for macarons. Everything here tastes really good but the macarons are extra heavenly. ' He smiled at me.
My heart skipped a beat seeing him smile. He still has the same effect on me.
I took a macaron and took a bite of it. ' These macarons are the best I have ever had!' I exclaimed and ate two macarons in a single row.
'Woaahh! Slow down phi down, you are gonna choke on the food.' I can see Tine chuckling to his own words as I took the last sip of my coffee.
I blushed seeing him laugh at me. But the macarons are too goodddd!
'The croissants were also tasty by the way." I said
Tine was still smiling at me. Only god knows how bad I missed seeing him smile.
'I know right. You are not the first customer to say this though. Talking of which, Do you work nearby? Isnt Gunthithanon Industries in the other side of the city?'
'Yeah, Gunthithanon Industries are in the other side, but my company is somewhat near. I dont work at my dad's company. After my graduation, I started my own venture and it took off well. Initially the company was in the other side, but then we shifted it to the Techno Park here. So yeah, my company is near.' I said.
'Congrats phi, I always knew you will achieve something big, but never imagined that you will be the CEO of your own company. The techno park is only 20 minutes ride from here na.' His looked down but still managed to wear his smile.
