KAI'S POV:

The next morning was a dull one. Mom avoided me the whole time, probably worried that she would cave on her decision. They had decided to not let me join the nest, despite my efforts. A trip to the hospital and needing stitches across my eye was probably the last straw for them and I didn't blame them. Haku tried to make me feel better by telling me it would end up being a cool scar, which he was right about, but it was hard to be happy about much at the moment.

I was polishing my rims outside with a rag when a white supra pulled up the driveway slowly, making sure to not dirty itself with the dust.

Levi?

I squinted and stood up as Dad walked outside confused at the sudden appearance. Levi got out of the car and eyed my father with distain. He was wearing sunglasses and a formal white long sleeve with dress pants.

"What's happened?" Dad asked.

With the rag in my hand, I watched as Levi scanned the property with a snare. He didn't appreciate the rural-ness.

"Why couldn't you just stay in the hotel apartment I gave you? Theres bugs and shit out here." Levi frowned.

Dad rolled his eyes and folded his arms.

"What do you want?" He asked rudely.

"I've come to negotiate."

Dad frowned at the small man and shoved his hands in his pockets, standing tall on the front porch.

"Negotiate what."

Levi's eyes found me as he nodded in my direction.

"I want Kai."

Heh?

Dad scoffed and shook his head, turning to look left out into the open.

"Im not doing this right now, Levi."

"What? Why?" I asked curiously, being ignored anyway.

"Jean, hear me out- please." Levi begged unusually.

"No, now get off of my property." Dad scowled.

"Im aware you already declined-"

"What don't you get? I said no!"

"Im retiring." Levi finished.

Dad paused, his brows furrowing with confusion. I clutched the rag in my
hands as the two stared at each other intensely. The idea of Levi ever retiring had never crossed dads mind, he had been the boss for so long.

"With that, means moving onto the next generation and I can't leave Eren a half assed legacy." He sighed.

"So Eren will be the knew boss?" Dad asked.

Levi hummed and nodded.

"Marcel will move onto Second in command and the next gen moves in. I'm getting too old to be running a criminal organisation."
