I only got colder when I felt the water turn off. "Antoinette, how long have you been in here?" Elijah sounded worried as he spoke.

But I didn't reply while he wrapped a towel around me. Slowly, he helped me stand. It took a few minutes, because of how slow I was going, but eventually we were in his room.

He had me sit on the bed.

Elijah wrapped the blanket around me as he crouched to look me in the eyes. "Antoinette, what happened?" Closing my eyes, I tried to get the energy to talk.

"I.. I heard glass breaking-" He sighed, relieved it was nothing more than that, as he moved to sit beside me. "I'm sorry I wasn't here."

Elijah and I had our arms locked together as we walked in. Hayley was standing by his other side. Everyone turned to look at us, which only served to make me uncomfortable.

We turned and started to walk into the other room. "Why are they all staring at you?" Hayley's question is fair.

Looking to the corner of the room, I was able to spot Eulissa. I don't think she knows what keeping a large distance means. "They're all part of your sire lines." "Most of them, tragically, yes." Well I'm glad me and Elijah both think it's tragic.

"You see, Hayley, I'd wanted to assemble minds curious about the world and eager to improve it, along with time and circumstance to do so." As Elijah spoke I gave a glare to Eulissa.

"My desire was to create and elite brotherhood devoted to a new," When we reached the bar I released Elijah's arm so I could lean against it. "better civilization-" "Hayley, incase you weren't following that, he made a cult." When he looked over to me I just smiled.

He couldn't say I was wrong. "It was naive." Thank you for admitting that, Elijah. "Eventually I was forced to abandon them once I'd realized I'd cultivated a legion of egomaniacal sociopaths." You could've... Killed them on your way out.

When Eulissa started to walk towards me I turned to Elijah. "You can question it later-" I whispered in annoyance to him before Eulissa interrupted me.

"Pasiphaenna-" "Don't say my middle name-" "what a coincidence to see you here." She ignored me as she adjusted my tie. She was specifically not supposed to do something like this. "Invisique."

Rolling my eyes in a mix of anger and annoyance I pushed her hands away from my tie. "Antoinette?" Elijah was frantic as he looked around the room for me. "Where did she go?" Eulissa smiled as Hayley spoke, causing me to groan.

"Motus." Holding my hand up, I forced her back until she was too far for the spell to cover me. "Ignore my cousin." I dropped my arm as I wrapped my other around Elijah's. "Antoinette." He was relieved when he spoke.

Elijah leaned towards me to kiss my forehead, causing me to smile. After a moment he pulled away. "That was your cousin?" "Unfortunately." My response to Hayley was semi-serious, semi-playful.
