After trying on a couple more outfits, and paying for our stuff, we left and went to some other shops.

First, we went to a game shop. Henry looked at every single game before settling on the latest Mario game (he had been banned for buying more than one at a time).

I found a Zelda game I didn't have and bought that. It would get me through this next month without wanting to buy anything else. Even in normal circumstances, I needed this.

After that, we went to a couple more clothes stores. It was an unsuccessful visit as we didn't find anything in either.

Henry proceeded to drag us into an anime shop. Not that I'm complaining; I love anime. He bought several different mangas, including one that had yet to be translated into japanese. Drew and I teased him for this, because he can barely read english, nevermind a second language.

Lunch time arrived, and the three of us went to get sandwiches from Subway. There was no seats in there, so we decided to sit on a bench nearby.

We began eating. I was having a chat with Drew while Henry scoffed his sandwich down, when I saw Drew's eyes widen.

It was Zoey, and she was walking right towards us.

Lia was behind her, carrying 3 bags, a lot in comparison to the small, plastic bag Zoey was carrying.

"Hey Lia, check out this MHA manga I bought," Henry said, showing it to her as if it was a trophy. "Pretty sweet huh."

"Yeah.. no.."

"Every other girl would kill to be with a guy who owned the newest one," Henry pleaded.

Despite the fact that the two had discussed being close friends but that they were never going to be anything more, Henry still hadn't stopped trying. His attempts may have became fewer and further between, but they were still just as cringey and unsuccessful as they had once been.

"Hey Drewy bear!" Zoey finally said, silencing both ongoing conversations.

"Hey," Drew said, his voice monotone.

"So~" She held on to the "o", "tell me about this new job you have."

I could feel the goosebumbs on Drew's arm against mine. The slight shake of fear.

How did she know about the job? She never even ate at the pizzaria!

Slowly, I tried to reach out for Drew's hand. I felt an instant grip when I reached it.

"How did you-?" Drew asked, voice trembling.

We all knew the power Zoey had. She had made a name as queen for herself in our school's social hierarchy. Anything she knew could easily be used against you in any way which she so desired.

"You where working at the most popular pizzaria in Rosemeadow! One of my.." She paused, thinking of the right word, ".. acquaintances was bound to find out eventually. And as your latest and only ever ex, I was guaranteed to be told."

"Why do you even care?" I ask, feeling a little irritated at her decision to target Drew.

Truthfully, I never liked Zoey. If she wasn't Drew's girlfriend I probably would've commented on my dislike for her and just ignored her as a whole. But, she was Drew's girlfriend and I couldn't bare to make things awkward, even if it meanit it was her Drew was kissing and not me.

"Well when the son of one of the richest people in Rosemeadow is working for minimum wage at a scruffy pizza place everybody's gonna be a little curious," she explained.

"Why does that matter? There's that much gossip in Rosemeadow you don't need this big news to get attention," I argue.

"That's were you're wrong." She pauses, making sure I understand the severity of what she had just said. "This is the biggest gossip Rosemeadow has had in a while. There's a lot of speculation about it. When somebody finds out it's gonna be widely known, anyway."

She removed her cold gaze from me, looking back at Drew.

"So Drew-y bear.. you gonna tell me?" She asked..

He removed his grip from my hand.

"No, come on guys. Let's leave," he says.

With that, the three of us were out of the mall, heading back to Henry's to figure out what we're going to do for the rest of the day.

While we were there, I noticed Drew was still shaking. Throughout the game of headbands and our adventure time bingewatch, I could see how paranoid he was.

I knew Zoey was a piece of shit. That much was obvious. I watched her manipulate Drew time and time again. It wasn't just him. Based on what I saw, he was actually fairly lucky.

But watching him as he picks at the skin by his nails, not even looking up at the TV, I realise I severely underestimated how toxic their relationship was.

I realise then how much I need to keep the whole situation secret. I promised Drew I would. In that moment, it's clear why he wouldn't want me to tell anyone.

Then I look next to him and see Henry's scruffy, green hair and realise that I've already broken my promise to him.
