While an exhausted Mercedes and Lizzie had fallen asleep upstairs, Alaric gathered everyone else as they'd discussed a plan on how to escape.
With Josie having a suggestion, Jade went upstairs to wake up Mercedes and Lizzie, though she bit back a smile as she found them tangled up together.
The vampire then shook them, as the pair both groggily woke up. "Come on, we're getting out of here." Jade smiled at them.
Moments later, everyone was outside the Salvatore home, following Josie. Lizzie and Mercedes, both still weakened, held eachother up as they walked along.
"We need to work together. Place the spires in a circle to create a boundary spell." Josie declared before she began to explain her plan. "As I begin to siphon, doors will open beneath them. Each door can only transport one person. Once I begin the spell, I cannot stop until it is done. So, when you see the door, you have to go."
Lizzie looked to Alaric, with tear filled eyes. "Dad, don't do this. We'll find another way." She pleaded.
"Lizzie, there's no time." Alaric insisted. "Kai got out. He's at the school. Hope's trying to stop him, but if she can't, you and Josie have to." He explained to his daughter.
"You got to go now. Besides, you'll find a way to get me back in no time." The headmaster insisted.
"I'm so sorry. I never should have..."
"It's okay. I love you."
Mercedes face fell, and even though she despised Alaric with her entire being, she was a little upset that he was staying back, purely because it made Lizzie sad.
Josie began to siphon, as holes formed along the ground. Mercedes and Lizzie broke apart, so they could exit separately.
The Ramirez felt a sense of fear suddenly wash over her... she had been stuck in this prison world for four years, and life had gone on without her... what the hell was she going to get herself into, going back?
"Mercy." Jade piped up, causing the ravenette to snap her head towards her best friend, who had an eager smile on her lips. "See you on the other side." The Salvatore joked, before she jumped into one of the holes.
Mercedes lips curved into a smile, and suddenly she didn't feel as scared. The hellhound then jumped into one of the holes, finally leaving the prison world behind her.

Sometime had passed, and Alaric found a way out of the prison world. With Diego being the anchor, everyone could leave.
