Sitting on a picnic blanket near the docks were Mercedes and Lizzie. The Ramirez was rummaging through the picnic basket that herself and Lizzie had filled about an hour earlier, and pulled out some sandwiches.

She offered the sandwiches out to Lizzie, who took a ham, cheese and tomato sandwich before the hellhound took a ham and pickle sandwich for herself.

As Lizzie looked up at the blue sky, she looked to Mercedes. "Today would be a great day to swim." She said as Mercedes scrunched her face up at the idea. "I'm a being of fire, I hate water." She said before she added in a smaller voice, "I also don't know how to swim."

"What?" Lizzie blurted in surprise, "Everybody should know how to swim!" She admitted as Mercedes shrugged. "That's probably true, but my parents didn't exactly care enough to give me lessons."

"Well... maybe I could find a floating ring or something." The Saltzman suggested, as Mercedes laughed a little before she took a bite of her sandwich to be surprised by the taste.

"Babe... what is this green tangy stuff?" Mercy quickly asked as the witch peered over at her sandwich. "Oh, they're pickles." She answered.

"Pickles? Oh, I definitely haven't had these before. They're delicious!" Mercy declared before she took another bite of her sandwich. Lizzie tried to hold back a laugh, finding her girlfriend to be adorable.

Lizzie selected another snack from the basket— some chocolate chip cookies Josie had made. She had made them for Jade, hoping to impress her, but ended up having a lot left over so she gave them to her twin.

"This is nice." Lizzie admitted, feeling content. "What is nice? This picnic? The weather?" Mercy asked, as she listed off a bunch of things.

"Us. Finally being able to just... be together." Lizzie said, causing Mercedes to smile. "True... it felt like we've just constantly had obstacles in our way." The hellhound added.

Mercedes reached out and took Lizzie's free hand, and gave it a light squeeze before she let go to grab another snack from the basket. Grabbing a chocolate chip cookie she asked, "This isn't going to poison me, is it?"

Lizzie rolled her eyes at her girlfriends dramatics before she shook her head. "No. Josie isn't a bad person, you know." She spoke as Mercedes looked to her. "Baby... she has said some really horrible things about you regarding your mental health."

"She just doesn't understand it." Lizzie responded as Mercedes frowned, "If you don't understand somebody's mental illness you should be more inclined to educate yourself not just be a dick about it." The Ramirez responded as Lizzie wasn't really sure what to say.
