We've had our fair share
Of acts in desperation
When the love you still love
Slipped through your fingersIt then begins
The agony in longing
The torment in waiting
The malefic thoughts
Convincing you of acts to take
To fightYet despite the wretchedness of it all
Indeed there was always hope in waiting
For without hope
We would collapse in despairSo you hope and you hope
Until you collapse
When the hope ripped away
By the same hands you longed
