Finney sighed as he lay on the thin red picnic blanket. It was a peaceful night; no one was bothering you and him.

You were his girlfriend. You two haven't dated long, but you've lasted longer than most middle school relationships. Finney kept to himself most of the time; he was still fathoming that he managed to get a girl like you.

He'd always admired you from afar. Finney had three classes with you, and he always loved how you were peaceful and calm, which made his heart flutter for a strange reason he didn't understand at the time.

Fortunately, You had grown fond of Finney too. You had to be the first girl to talk with him because he was too shy. As the months went on, the two of you grew closer, and your feelings for each other intensified. With the help of Robin, Finney's best friend, he managed to gain the confidence to ask you out, and you happily agreed.

You and Finney have been dating for three months, and today marks your anniversary. Despite the short amount of time, Finney wanted to do something special.

Stargazing may seem like a small activity to most, but it means the world to you. You haven't had the time to do it because of school and extracurriculars, so Finney decided it would be a great idea to celebrate.

You scooted closer to Finney, resting your head on his shoulder as they stared into the sparkling night sky. Finney's eyes squinted as he observed the stars.

"Hey, isn't that a planet?" he questions, pointing at a star that seemed more substantial than the others.

You only laughed at him in reply. "No, that star is only closer to Earth," You responded. Finney lets out a hum as you lay in silence again. You loved stargazing together; you didn't have the pressure to talk to each other. You two could be quiet for hours, but you and Finney would still be comfortable with each other.

Getting up, you grab a package of Oreos. You take a few and bite off a bit of the treat before cuddling with Finney again. You take one and pop it in Finney's mouth; You laugh at him because of how shocked he is by the sudden gesture. He finishes the cookie and points to a familiar constellation.

"That's— the Big Dipper, isn't it?" Finney questions, pointing his finger above your head.

"Hey, you got it right!" You smile as you plant a kiss on his cheek.

He blushes slightly. Since it was dark, you hardly noticed. "Cool. Is that the Orion?"

You shake your head. "No, but it's okay. You'll get it right the more we do this."

Finney wouldn't mind if he stargazed for the rest of his life as long as he got to be with you when he did it.

You tilted your head up before pulling Finney into a gentle kiss. Pulling away, you chuckle at how flustered he is.

"Thank you," Finney whispers.

"For what? The kiss?"

"Everything. I'm glad I get to spend nights like these with someone like you, Y/n."

Finney smiles as he wraps his arms around you, bringing you closer if that is even humanly possible.

"So am I."
