[A/N: since it's Christmastime, I'd love some ones for TBP characters, so here you go! :)]

Sitting on an uncomfortable red couch, you sipped your hot chocolate. You were at your classmate's Christmas party, and your parents almost forced you to go.

You weren't close with many students in your school, so you only sat alone on the couch, observing your peers. Christmas music blasted throughout the house, as well as teenagers' laughter. The smell of gingerbread lingered throughout the room as you sighed.

A random student, whom you assumed was in your grade, came up to you and tried to start a conversation. It was painfully awkward since he only wanted to talk about strange topics. You decided to get up and leave randomly because of how much second-hand embarrassment you got from him.

Nobody was doing anything interesting. You chose to explore the house since it was getting quite dull.

In the mansion, you noticed how many activities you could do. There were entertaining Christmas-themed games, delicious food, and more. The only agitating part about the occasion was the obnoxious teenagers who acted like they were drunk, even if they only drank peppermint-flavored hot chocolate.

While touring the home, you bumped into a familiar face while exploring upstairs. It took a moment to recognize who it was. Your eyes instantly lit up when you saw the brunette boy.

Finney Blake was one of your few friends at school and your crush. Your friends always wondered what you saw in Finney, but you never knew. You've never understood why you liked him so much, but love is strange. This could be your chance to spend more time with him.

You nervously cleared your throat before giving him a warm smile. "Hey, Finney," you say excitedly.

"Hi, Y/n," he beamed back. "How are you?" Finney looked around the party, observing your classmates.

You shrug, taking a swig out of your drink. "I'm doing alright. Party's a bit boring, though," you commented.

Finney nods in agreement. "Uh, mind if I hang out with you tonight? I don't know anyone here," he chuckled nervously.

"Yeah, of course!" You replied without hesitation— too quickly. You didn't bother to think about why he decided to be here.

You shook your head in embarrassment as you raised your cup. "Do you want something to eat?" You questioned.

"Yeah, sure," Finney answered awkwardly.

You led Finney down the crowded stairs, looking back every few seconds so you wouldn't lose him. Once you finally got downstairs, you showed him to the kitchen. To your surprise, the kitchen was spacious, and there seemed to be tons of treats on the table in the middle of the room.

As you two explored the endless snacks on the beautifully decorated table, Finney decided on some gingerbread cookies. Unfortunately, it was the last one. Finney noticed you eyeing the dessert, so he snapped the treat in half, handing a piece to you.

You shook your hands. "No, Finn. You can have it," you politely decline, taking a candy cane and slipping it into your coat pocket instead. Finney ignores your refusal as he places the cookie on your plate, giving you a slight smile. You couldn't help but grin back. He had one of those contagious smiles; that's what you thought.

The song that was blasting changed suddenly. It was now playing your favorite for the holidays, so you subtly nodded your head to the beat, feeling the rhythm.

"You like this song too?" Finney exclaimed.

"Yeah, it's the best!"

Finney nodded. He became a bit happier than before.

You and Finney talked for the rest of the long-lasting night. It was the best part of the event, being able to talk to your crush the whole time.

It was finally 9 PM, meaning the party was over, and everyone had no choice but to go home. However, you were slightly disappointed since your time with Finney has now come to an end.

As you exited the doorway with Finney, you suddenly stopped. Finney gave you a confused look. "Y/n, is there anything wrong?" He asked worriedly.

Your breath hitches. You were unsure of what to say, so you said the first sentence that came to your head.

"We should hang out sometime."

Finney's eyes widened. He didn't expect that from you, but he agreed. "Sure, I'd love—"

Excited gasps and giggles cut him off. You noticed that everyone within a five-foot radius of you was staring. They were all looking above your heads. Curiously, you looked to see a greenish plant with a slim stem neatly tied up with a bright red bow. Your eyes grew large. You instantly recognized the plant.

Mistletoe.

According to a Christmas tradition, two people that stood under mistletoe would have to kiss. You didn't know when the plant was hung up or why they did it, but now you had no choice. Everyone was watching you and Finney, stirringly waiting for you two to kiss.

You glanced at Finney, whose face turned crimson. Pursing your lips, you cleared your throat, looking at the students admiring you two.

"So... are we going to do it?" He questioned.

"I guess. Everyone's watching us..."

"Alright," Finney said, almost excitingly.

He leaned in before carefully placing his lips on yours. You kiss back, of course, still surprised by the gesture. Your heart exploded into a million pieces. It was like fireworks inside your body. After a few seconds, you pulled away as your classmates cheered.

Finney gave you a sweet smile before you two walked out the door.

"That was my first kiss," he mentioned.

You placed your hands in your pockets. "Well, it was mine too," you chuckled.

"I'm glad it was you," he smiled. You said nothing in response, but you were beaming. It was the best night of your life.
