Chapter 1
The soft wind is blowing my fur as I run through the forest. The moon shinning bright above me to light up the path. The soft sounds of the night crawlers that are awake to see the shine of their sun.
I run faster through the forest. Running always brings a smile to my face no matter what kind of day I have had. I run till I can't run any faster and my energy is almost gone. I only run at night because no one is awake to ruin the moment of silence and I'm finally allowed to be myself without being bossed around.
I run to my favorite spot in the forest. It's a little creek just a mile away from the territory line. No one comes here due to the fact they are so close to the border and more than likely to get attacked by rouges.
I stop and go to the creek to get a drink. At the same time, I look at my reflection. My white fur is glistening in the moonlight. My light blue eyes twinkle in the night. I quickly look away before the memories come rushing back, but that doesn't stop them from coming.
The day I turned was one of the most horrible days of my life. It was to me almost like life and death. To this day, it still makes me shiver.
It was my sixteenth birthday...
* Flashback*
I was up after my party. Even though most girls who just turned sixteen would be sneaking out of the house and go to the nearest party, and party their little hearts out, but me. Then all of a sudden, pain shoots through my whole body. The pain was unbearable and I fell to my knees screaming. I screamed and pleaded for it all to stop, but it didn't. I was in a never ending pain almost.
“Mom!" I yelled after finding my voice.
My mom was already heading her way towards me and knelt down to see what was wrong. Judging by the smile on her face, she knew what was happening. Another way of pain hit me and I screamed even louder.
“It’s happening." She said.
What does she mean, it is happening?
I was about to ask her when my bones started to crack. I screamed and withered away in pain. Fur started to come up on my arms and I fell into complete darkness.
* End of Flashback* (For now, to be finished later in the story.)
“Lexi!" I jumped at the screaming voice in my head. Yes, I said in my head. Let me explain how this happens.
We are not human. We are what people call Werewolves. Not the ones that only change on a full moon and are slaves to the moon. We actually change whenever we want.
A long time ago, one of the first elders made up the lie about us being slaved to the moon. He did this because a careless werewolf was spotted by a mundane. Neat less to say the young werewolf had a severe punishment for exposing our secret. The only thing they couldn't stop was the mundane telling everyone about us.
