Hornet POV:

I was bouncing up and down. Mom just told me we get to go to the white palace! She had to talk with the other Dreamer people and the king, which meant I could play with Pure Vessel! Or Hollow as he lets other call him.

My mother leaned down and let me climb onto her head. I couldn't wait! Hollow was always really nice to me. Well, as nice as someone without emotions can be. He also tells me what it's like to be like that. I wouldn't want to be, personally. I also got to see my dad, but he wasn't as fun to hang out with. Usually tells me to sit still.

"Mom are we close?" I asked

"Relationship wise, yes. In terms of the white palace, also yes. We just need to get on the tram and we're basically there." I quietly squealed excitedly.

We walked into the palace and I hopped down onto the floor.

"You've grown quite a bit, young protector." A voice said.

"Oh, hi Lurien!" I called to the Watcher. "And thanks." He chuckled and went to talk to my mom. Lurien was pretty nice, so was Monomon.

"Mom, can I go find Hollow?" I asked. She nodded at me during her conversation with the Watcher.

I jogged away to go look for my half-brother. I went up the winding halls of the palace and found him training. He was very skilled. I sent my nail flying at the dummy then brought it back. Hollow looked at me and I giggled.

Hollow POV:

I looked at Hornet. She seemed proud of herself.

"Nice hit, Hornet." I complimented. She giggled again and ran up to hug my leg. I patted her head as she did.

Hornet looked up at me. She let go and ran around me a bit.

"Hollow! Can you show me some fighting moves?" She asked. I knew I shouldn't...but a few moves couldn't hurt.

I showed Hornet a simple dash and helped her practice her nail throwing. By the end she seemed quite excited. Good for her. I walked out of the training room with her following. I eventually stopped in one of the halls, getting distracted by Hornet skipping ahead. She noticed I stopped and skipped back.

"Hey Hol? Could you upsies?" She asked.

"What's an...'upsie?'" I asked.

"It's when you pick me up, throw me up a little bit above you, then catch me and do it again!" Hornet explained. "It'd be soooooo fun with your height! Please?"

"I could give these 'upsies' a try." Hornet squealed with excitement at my reply. I bent down and scooped her up. Then I tossed her up a bit and caught her.

"Again!" She demanded. I nodded.

We did this for a few minutes, Hornet having the time of her life. I couldn't help a but feel a bit of joy creeping into my empty body. I immediately realized my mistake. I caught Hornet and placed her down.

"Hollow? Why'd you stop?" She asked.

"Just...need some rest."

"Can we do that again sometime?"

"Of course. It was fun."

I heard her giggle and catch up to me.

My eyes blinked open as the memory came to an end. I looked up at the bug sitting before me. She had a similar outfit to the one from the memory. I knew why she triggered it though.

She had to be Hornet.

I think I made her uneasy with my staring. She looked at the ground before getting ready to stand up.

"Hornet." I said. She sat back down and turned to me.

"Do you remember?" She asked.

"Are you still up for another round of upsies I promised?" I asked.

Her face went red.

"Of all the memories of me?! That one?" She shouted. I laughed. It felt weird.

"I guess it was a lasting memory. You made me feel something for the first time." Hornet came over and hugged me.

"I missed you."

I patted her head like when she was younger.

I missed you too, Hornet.
