~Valerie's POV~

"Sire this is Valor, he wishes to offer his assistance." I stand next to Merlin silently as the King and his Knights take in my alter ego.

"I wish we could have met in better circumstances, Valor." King Arthur readily stuck out his hand and I grasped it with my own, shaking firmly. I was given strange stares as even as our handshake ended I had yet to say a word. With a roll of my eyes I backhanded Merlin on the shoulder.

"Oh right, he's a mute, that's why he hasn't spoken a word to anyone." Getting various strange looks I simply nod my head and bow towards King Arthur then walk off behind Merlin.

"That could have gone better." I laughed slightly as we got out of ear shot of the everyone.

"I thought it went great, whatdya mean?" Merlin gave me a confused look and I facepalmed.

"Like I already said Merlin, you're a terrible liar." Dramatically he threw his hands in the air and scoffed.

"I still don't understand where your getting that idea from?!" Exasperated Merlin holds open a door for me. As I enter I take in the walls lined with different vials of things and heavy books scattered around. A few tables were sat here and there, and there was a big fireplace off to the side.

"What's this place?" I lean over the closest table and look through the tiny vials of random liquids. All of them were labeled but some of the things I truly did not know what they were.

"My workshop, Merlin?"

"U..uh Gaius." I straighten back up from exploring the different things and face Gaius as he raises a brow at a now nervous Merlin.

"Didn't you just get done telling everyone Valor was a mute?" Gaius moved past the both of us and sat a round bag gently on a table. Merlin noticeably was struggling for an excuse so instead I just pulled my helmet off.

"Lady Valerie?" His surprised face made me smile as I set my helmet down.

"It's nice to meet you Gaius." Looking completely bewildered he looked between Merlin and myself, stopping finally on me.

"You're Valor then?"

"Indeed I am, and I would like to stay as such." Gaius gives me a knowing look and simply just nods his head.

"Best put your helmet back on then sir Valor, many like to barge in unannounced." Gaius turned away and unzipped his bag, going about looking through the notes he'd taken. I do as he suggested and adorn my helmet back on my head, making sure my hair wasn't sticking out. Not even a second later the door flew open and a distressed sir Percival came rushing into the room, a child passed out in his arms.

"What happened Percival?" Merlin questioned as sir Percival gently set the young girl down on the nearest cot. The girl was bruised pretty bad and had long scratch marks up her arms and a few placed randomly elsewhere. Blood was soaking into her baggy clothing as she breathed shallowly.

"She was attacked," before he could go on the door once again flew open and sir Lancelot came rushing in. Gaius slightly glared at the loudness and then looked back to sir Percival. "Lancelot and I happened to be near when we heard her scream." I stood off in the back listening and watching as Gaius ordered everyone around.
