~Valerie's POV~

I returned quickly to Gwen's side and sat before the announcer started the match. I watched entranced as sir Elyan fought with skill. Easily, as one would expect, beating his opponent.

As the announcer called sir Elyan the winner of the match, sir Elyan noticeably looks straight at me. Our eyes meeting briefly before he leaves the arena. A thank you present in his expression, along with something I couldn't place fast enough.

"Gwen, Elyan never ceases to amaze does he?" King Arthur turned to Gwen with a proud smile present on his face. It was refreshing to see such how much the King truly valued his Knights. I wish to be the reason for such a proud smile in the future. I want so badly to be a Knight of Camelot. Everything I've done in my life has been for this moment.

"He doesn't, but don't go telling him that Arthur. It'll go to his head." Gwen laughed her sweet laugh and the King immediately smiled at the sound, nodding in agreement.

"Let's welcome a crowd favorite back! We've got Valor against The Bull!" I feel myself smile slightly as I hear the crowd chanting my stage name. I quickly cover my smile and gently tap Gwen's arm.

"I've gotta use the restroom, I'll return quickly." Gwen nods with a smile, oblivious to my true intentions. Quickly I throw myself past the steps and onto the ground, rushing back to my tent. As I entered my tent I found Merlin standing there with my swords in his hands.

"Hurry up!" Whisper yelling at me he motions for me to work on my helmet. As he buckled my swords around my waist I flipped my head over and tucked all my hair into the helmet as I put it on. We both finished quickly and I grabbed my cloak, clasping it as I hurried back to the arena. Just as my opponent took his spot across the arena I was fast walking through the entrance.

I stepped up to my own spot and rolled my shoulders in attempt to relax myself. I was feeling a little frazzled from all the running around and I really didn't need that right now. Taking a deep breath I focus my attention on my opponent. He was one of the biggest guys probably signed up for the tourney. He wasn't bigger than sir Percival though, which as I said, is not something I would easily forget.

The man wore nothing but trousers and boots, his hairy chest on display for all to see. He was dirty and looked like he smelled, and when he smiled maliciously I could see the many missing teeth he didn't have. The announcer threw his hand down and the big guy immediately started towards me, sword drawn and ready to attack.

I dodged to the left as he came swinging at me, I'm not sure how well I'll withstand against such a strong swing. Once again the giant was advancing towards me. He went for a wide swing and I fell to my knees to dodge, slicing the outside of his thigh and up his chest.

He staggered back with a loud yell and I took that chance to rush him. Running forward I slid behind him, slicing his opposite thigh while I was at it. Jumping up I watch as the big man falls to his knees. Flipping my sword around in my right hand I grip the handle and bring it down heavily on the man's head. The giant man falls forward with a groan of pain and I hold my other blade to the side of his neck.

"Once again Valor takes victory!" Everyone cheers as the announcer hyped me up. Instead of embracing the peoples adoration I briskly leave the arena and go straight back to my tent. Gwen must be wondering where I am.

I make quick work of my accessories and rush back to my seat. My hair was a bit sweaty but I suppose I could blame it on the sun and the walk. As I find the top step I see Gwen and the King whispering to each other. As quiet as possible I sit in my seat and act as if I hadn't been gone very long.
