"Thanks for breakfast Naruto!" Sakura and Ino both called.
"Thanks for all the advice." Naruto replied. The two had dumbed a lot of information on the dos and don't with women. Things they like to hear, places they like to go on dates, how to be a gentleman all around.
Seemed strange to Naruto how many rules it felt like were a part of dating. Seemed annoying or as one of his friends would say what a drag, but for the right person it must be worth it, and the blond felt like he found that person.
Quickly paying his rather expensive bill, he headed out and made his way towards the Hyugan compound. Out side there were more guards than usual. Having spent time around the clan Naruto knew some of the members now, "good morning Ko. May I enter to speak to Hinata."
Ko bowed, "good morning Naruto, my apologies I cannot allow you to enter."
"Can't? Why not?"
"Private clan meetings." Ko replied a flash of sadness passed his face before going back to the stone emotionless face.
"Mmm." Naruto placed on arm behind his head as he looked up to the sky. "I guess I'll just wait out here until it's done." He sat just a little away from the entrance under the shade of a tree. Meditating gathering nature chakra. This had become one of Naruto's favorite things to do, while doing so he always felt connected to the village. He could sense all his friends and when focusing on a person he could get a sense of there emotions.
Right now he was looking for the dark hair beauty that wouldn't leave his mind. There were so many people inside the compound it was actually taking a while to find her. Before finding her however he felt anger coming from some men. 'What the hell?'
Sadness. The beautiful princess that was consuming Naruto's heart was putting off sadness. The blondes eyes opened only to be startled with Mai standing so close to his face.
"Finally you wake up." She said standing straight up. She was visibly upset.
"Oh uh hi Mai." Naruto looked passed her at the compound entrance. He knew the guards were to not let anyone is but he wondered how bad it be if he pushed his way through anyways.
Mai cleared her throat drawing the blonde's attention back, just in time for her to slap his whiskered cheek. It wasn't painful by any means but he was shocked. He didn't say a word but she definitely had his full attention now.
"I've never been rejected, I don't like it one bit."
Naruto's mind was moving at a snails pace. It hadn't click what she was talking about yet.
"I mean you're the hero of the village, I'm the daimyos granddaughter we're meant to be not to mention I'm a catch that any guy would want." She looked ready to hit the hero again.
Naruto raise a hand in defense, "Mai,wait It's not about your looks. It's just the idea of being forced to be with someone is wrong. What if my soul mate is out there how would I find them if adults decided my future?" He could feel the sweat forming at the back of his neck.
"Then give me a chance to show you we'd be perfect together." She replied giving him puppy dog eyes.
The blonde froze, how does one nicely reject someone with out hurting them? A topic that didn't come up with his female friends earlier.
She moved closer taking Naruto's silences as a invitation.
"Mai-" while trying to form the right words he was cut off by her lips smashing into his. Everything about this kiss felt wrong. Yet for some reason he didn't push her off like his mind was screaming for him to do. His body seemed to be frozen in place.
After what felt like hours she finally pulled back. "Give me a chance to show you, you do want me."
Naruto gulped feeling like there was a hidden message. His face felt hot with embarrassment.
Just then his ear twitched, drawing his attention to the Hyugan entrance, there he saw a beautiful Hinata with her father next to her bowing to some other man.
She had a smile on her face and she thanked them for coming. But behind her mask was sadness. Again having lost control of his body, the whiskered man made his way over to her.
"Hinata!"
Both she and her father turned. "You may have a minute with your friend." Her father then made his way back inside, rather unusual of him to be kind.
"You look nice." Naruto said taking a closer look at her, she had a light pink kimono with a dark purple swrils all over her hair was pinned back and some dark lipstick she was a sight to behold.
Hinata began to blush but willed her self to look up into the blue eyes she'd been I love with for so long. "Thank you."
This new found confidence she was showing was such a turn on for Naruto. He didn't know what else to say he just wanted to keep looking at her, to take it all in.
"So was your hand promised?"
Like nails on a chalk board, Mai came over to intrude on this moment the two young ninjas were sharing.
"Yeah such is the life of clan leaders right? We don't get to choose our fate, especially not with love." Mai continued with a smirk on her face.
Naruto couldn't help the angry glare he was sending her way. He heard a sniffle and turned his attention back to the long haired beauty. She had tears forming in her eyes, her bottom lip was trembling. She didn't say word just looked once more into the dreamy eyes of Naruto and turned to go back into the compound.
