"I mean they don't have to be together all the time do they?" Sakura complained, her and Sia were a little ways behind the happy couple.
"Jealous?" Sai said tilting his head at his friend giving her his strange smile.
"Shut up." She growled at him.
"Ino said this might happen, I guess she really does understand people." Sai looked up into the sky as if remembering more of what she said.
"I'm not jealous."
"Ino said it would be normal. Naruto's your best friend and always prioritized you, now things have changed almost over night. Getting used to being second is hard, or so I'm told." He said once again giving her his strange smile.
Sakura was fuming and sure steam was coming out of her ears. What did Ino pig know, all she was saying was the couple seemed to always be together now. She had gone to Naruto's apartment earlier to walk to the gates and start their mission together as they always had. But to her surprise Hinata was also there, and in new gear.
The pinklet looked ahead at her fellow female teammate checking out her new gear again. Her hips looked wide compared to her tiny waist, her legs where muscular while still very feminine. Sakura could feel her face giving off disgust.
Sai having noticed what Sakura was looking at commented, "she fills in her uniform well, very curvy unlike you." This earned him a punch to the face.
Meanwhile Naruto and Hinata happily walked ahead. Naruto was going on on about the first time Sia joined the group, it was strange having him but he has truly proven himself a great teammate. Even with his lack of social skills, though he tried to understand them. Hinata listened to her boyfriend talk occasionally giggling or asking more questions. The two didn't even skip a beat when they heard Sia yell in pain from meeting Sakuras fist.
The hair on the back of her neck stood up she looked at her boyfriends face, he felt it too. They slowed there pace, she activated her eyes searching. Naruto slipped into sage mode trying to pin point what they were dealing with.
"10, 5 on each side. I'd say only 2 of them are strong the rest should be easy." Hinata said relaxing her eyes.
"We got this no problem." The blonde smirked hoping his other teammate also sensed the enemy.
Kunis came out of the bushes, and flying towards the group. Naruto and Hinata having already expecting it had there kuni in hand to easily deflect them. There other two team mates weren't aware of the coming attack but luckily weren't harmed.
Eight of the enemies appeared before them. Just as Naruto thought the stronger two were holding back. For one to have how strong they are and second to let the weaker one west us out a bit. Not wanting to drag this on for to long he blonde switched into sage mode.
Fear. The blonde sensed fear coming from the men before him. Strange, the look on there faces were blank but the amount of fear they were giving off was like they saw a gosht.
Just then one man charged at him, putting his arms up to block the hit of the man. Naruto looked the man in the eyes they were half open yet he looked dazed. Strange. Not much time to think the man was moving quick and Naruto needed to match his speed.
Naruto focused some chakra in his fist and punched the man sending him back, this gave Naruto a moment to asses how his teammates were doing. Sia and Sakura were battling 4 of the men, Sakura had just punched the floor causing the earth to break up while Sia used his beast scroll to pin 2 of the men down. They prepared for the other two to come at them again.
Hinata was facing 3 of the men. Her byakugan activated, and was in her stance. All 3 men came charging at her.
Before Naruto could see more he felt the enemies fist on his face. Bring his attention back to his current fight he needed to end it soon and help the others. Yet something about it felt off.
"Naruto! They're being controlled!" Hinata yelled out she was using her 16 palm trigrams. On the last hit a green glob shot out of the man chest. She grabbed it, trying to look into it she couldn't see much until finally a pair of eyes looked at her it sent a shiver up her spin. Then the ball passed, she looked at her attacker who was on the ground slowly walking up from his trance.
The other two men came to attack Hinata while she was distracted. Sensing them she quickly reacted. "8trigrams palms revolving heaven." She spun around the protective chakra dome sent both men flying back, knocking the spear out of one of the men. Thank goodness she had been learning this move for a while now, staying up late to practice however this was the first time she had done it successfully. 'One more to go'' she told her self.
Having herd his girlfriend Naruto focused his chakra and charged at his enemy. Ducking a punch and hitting him square in the chest sending the spear flying out his back. The man tumbled to the ground. Not wasting a beat Naruto ran over to Hinata who had just defeated the last of her enemies.
"I'm glad you're okay." He said smiling at her. He couldn't help but admire her beauty. Her brows were tilted down in anger sweat was beaded on her face causing her now messy hair to stick to her face.
"You too. Now let's go help the others looks like they only have one more." She said before running off.
Sakura was pinned to the ground by one of the men while Sia had just finished off one and was heading to help her.
"Naruto!" Sakura yelled out.
"Hi-ya!" Hinata yelled as she hit the exact chakra point to remove the globe controlling the man. He then fell over next to Sakura leaving Hinata standing over her teammate. Hinata deactivated her byakugan and lowered her arms. "Are you okay?" She asked as she reacted out her hand to help her teammate up.
" I'm fine." Sakura said and she stood up ignoring Hinatas hand.
"Hinata, I don't sense the other two men anymore. Do you see them?" Naruto said slipping out of sage mode.
Hinata shook her head. "They disappeared from my sight a while ago."
The four ninja lined up the 8 men, some where unconscious some were awake but very close to being unconscious.
"Where are you from?" Sia asked one of the men.
"We're just from a small farming town out side the leaf village. We aren't enemies I promise." The man said trying to catch his voice.
Sakura was busy healing there wounds, thankfully Hinata noticed early on that they were being controlled so the four ninjas did there best to not cause major damage.
"How strange. I'm going to write up a report to send back to the village." Sia said as he grabbed a scroll and began to write.
"I could sense there fear as we were battling them. How could you see the thing controlling them?" The blonde asked as he looked over to his girlfriend who was also helping to heal some minor injuries.
"Well I. I couldn't see it. When I was looking at there chakra points it was as though there was a void. Just a large circle of black, which I have never seen before. I decided to hit one of them since the movement from the men seemed off, like robotic. As soon as I hit it with my palms it went flying out." Hinata answered her face seemed puzzled she was still thinking about the eyes she saw when she stared into the ball.
The two females finished there healing. Sakura wiped the sweat off her forehead and laid back. "Naruto why don't you get us all some water."
She waited a moment and heard no response. Annoyed she looked over only to see Hinata rubbing her eyes while Naruto pulled her in for a hug rubbing her back. Sakura huffed.
"I'm okay really Naruto. I just need to rest my eyes from using the byakugan." She said smiling up at him. She felt like her body was going to melt into his, something about his warm embrace just felt so good.
"I can tell your angry, usually after a battle Naruto would be asking you if you were okay and getting you anything you need." Sia said as he sat next to Sakura
"Shut up Sia." She responded through gritted teeth.
