Friday November 7, 1977. Robin was coming to Finn's house later that night. Any normal boy would have told Donna, the pettiest girl at Northfield, that they would met her at the theater and go in the date, but Finn told her the he'd rather spend time with Robin. No one understood why they were so close. Yeah they were friends since fourth grade, but normal friends don't hold hands or play with each others hair all the time. In this very moment Robin had his head resting between Finn's thighs as he played with his hair.

Finn was slouched up against the couch as they sat on the floor. His legs were spread to let Robin lay between them. They were watching Black Christmas on cable cause Finney was a sucker for Christmas and Robin loved horror, this was their middle ground. They were dressed in warm, fuzzy pajama pants and a tee shirt. Covering Robin and Finn's legs was a thick crocheted blanket.

Usually Finn would be scared out of his mind shitless, but he wasn't paying attention to the movie, instead his focus was on the boy in front of him. He wove his fingers in and out of the thick black hair. The motion of Finn's fingers in his hair plus the taping of the rain on the windows only soothed Robin.

The movie ended which prompted the boys to move to Finn's room. Gwen was out at Stacie's and his father wasn't home yet, so it only them.

Robin laid on his bed and looked around the small room. He noticed all the little trinkets laying around. The other boy was standing over his record player as he placed a vinyl on the turntable. He was fidgeting with the needle trying to place it over a specific song. He let the needle drop and out came "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac.

He flopped face down into his bed next to Robin landing onto a pillow. He made eye contact with the other boy, face turning red.

"Rub my back" the curly haired boy asks. Robin complies, slipping his hand underneath Finn's shirt. He pushed his hand in a circular motions.

"Finn" Robin spoke meekly.

"Yeah...?" Finn looked up from the pillow

"Can I ask you something?"

"Anything" He knew Robin was about to ask him something important because of the tone.

"Why didn't you wanna go out with Donna?" Robin finally asked. It made no sense to him. Donna was pretty and kind and smart, everything he wasn't.

Finn was confused. Why would he be asking 'why'? Cant he just want to be with his best friend? That's what he told Robin. Deep down inside he knew it wasn't though. He had no desire to be with Donna. All he wanted was Robin.

He dropped the questioning after Finn's response. Finn had turned around to lay in his side facing Robin who was doing the same. The rain tapping and the lights dimmed added to the calm environment. They were tucked under a blanket as they listened to the album and talked.

"You think you can come over on Monday to help with my math?" Robin asked.

"I don't know...I'll have to see if I'm doing anything, if not I will." He replies

"Damn it" Finn exclaimed as he removes himself from the bed. The record had stopped as the needle moved to the center. He flipped it over to continue the music. He got back into bed, only closer to Robin.

"You wanna play a game?" Robin asks Finn. He smiled and laughed "I'm being serious Finn!"

"Sure" he laughs
