-flashback-
"What was that all about Perce?" Penelope questioned as she watched Marianna run away.
Percy just kept staring at the direction Marianna had run off to. He wasn't sure what to do in this situation, he knew running after her would probably upset Penelope, she'd most likely be riving in jealousy. He had to be a good boyfriend and not hurt her feelings so he told himself he'd ask Marianna about it later.
None of that was true though, Penelope was an understanding witch. She knew the two were close friends and she herself was slightly worried about Marianna getting upset like that. Yet Percy acted like it wasn't a big deal so she matched his energy.
"Finally scare her away Weasley?"
Percy mentally took a breath, already annoyed with the wizard that had given him so much cheek his whole time at Hogwarts.
"Leave me alone Flint." Percy huffed.
"Hey I'm not complaining, if pretty miss Fudge doesn't have her body guards around I might actually have a chance." Flint taunted.
Percy turned to face him angrily.
"Oliver and I aren't her body guards, we're her mates, but I suggest you leave her alone regardless.""It doesn't seem like she'll want you around her now, I'm sure she'll need some company. Plus you were never good enough for her anyway." Flint continued, standing as tall as he could to appear intimidating to Percy.
But Percy was taller, and he wasn't intimidated, he was angry.
"Shut your mouth Flint or else." Percy threatened.
"Or what? You'll ask Your little boyfriend Wood to come and defend you? You don't have the-"
Flint was quickly silenced by Percy's fist connecting with his face. Flint was on the floor attempting to figure out what had happened while Percy was shaking his arm around in pain, knowing he had definitely broken his wrist.
"Cmon Perce, let's get you to the hospital wing!" Penelope cried out, ushering him away from the situation as quickly as she could.
"Yeah, okay." Percy sighed out.
"Penelope?"
"Yes Perce?"
"Can you call me Percy?"
"Sure Percy."
Percy let out a longing exhale as he watched his mates and his family have a snowball fight outside the window. His breath clouded the glass so her drew a heart, purposely placed around Oliver holing and spinning Marianna around in his arms outside.
Percy laid his chin in his hand wondering what would have been if he was just brave enough to run after her back then. To admit he fancied her and that's why he didn't want to betray Penelope's trust and choose her in that moment.
It was too late now though.
A snowball hit the glass, startling Percy from his train of thought. He looked out the window to see Marianna waving at him with a smile while Oliver fell back into a fit of laughter.
Percy sent a small wave back. Marianna motioned for him to come outside but he shook his head no before disappearing further into the house.
"Oliver, maybe you should tell him." Marianna sighed.
Oliver finally stopped laughing. Shaking his head as he tried to catch his breath.
"Maybe next year.""No Oliver, not next year, this year. He thinks we're- never mind it's not important. I just need you to tell him. For my sake, please?" She begged with puppy eyes.
Oliver pointed at Marianna, smiling mischievously.
"He thinks we're what? Flirting?" He chuckled."No you tosser, he thinks we're shagging!" Marianna huffed.
Oliver fell into another fit of laughter and Marianna rolled her eyes.
"It's not funny Ollie, I tried telling him about my feelings and he just blew them off because he thinks you want me or something!""Well I don't." Oliver laughed.
"I know that, you know that, but Perce doesn't! I know the possibility of him seeing me that way is probably pretty far fetched but I'd like a decent chance." Marianna explained.
"Fine." Oliver hummed to himself.
"Really?" Marianna cheerfully asked.
"Yeah, but can I have till the end of holiday?" Oliver asked.
Marianna gasped outloud.
"Goodness Oliver, I'm so sorry. Never mind I shouldn't have pressured you to come out to him.""No Marianna, don't worry. It's for the best, I should have told him ages ago. I was just nervous. Thank you actually, for helping me."
"Always Ollie."
