I woke up to the sound of Naomi yelling, "Get your ass up and make the pack breakfast!"
*I sighed* Okay!
Once she left, I went to the bathroom and got in the shower. After I did my business I went to my closet and got dressed. I didn't feel like doing anything to my hair, so I just put it up in a bun and grabbed my glasses. I walked upstairs and went to the kitchen. I saw Rebecca and Greyson making out as usual. I just walked past them and got started on breakfast.
Once breakfast was finished, Rebecca and Greyson finally noticed me. They just rolled their eyes and sat down. Soon the rest of the pack came down and greeted their new Alpha. My parents got mad because I didn't greet Greyson, but I could care less because as far as I'm concerned he's not my Alpha and he never will be.
Naomi came toward me and hit me in the face. She threw me to the ground and kicked me in the ribs and I heard them crack. I yelled out in excruciating pain.
Then my dad came and picked me up by my hair and dragged me over to the stove and put both of my hands on the stove and turned it up high. I couldn't help but scream in pain. He dropped me to the ground and walked away without saying anything.
Without looking at anyone I managed to get up and go to the bathroom. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw a broken, bruised, and scared girl. I looked inside the cabinets, got some gauze and burn cream. I did my best to put the cream on my hands and gauze on my ribs and wrapped them up.
When I walked out it was quiet. Everyone must have left when I went to the bathroom. I tried my best to grab my bag, but due to the pain, I couldn't so I just left and went to school.

When I got to school, I realized that I'm late, so I hurried to Mrs. Battle's class. Upon entering her class, she turns to me. "Why are you late for my class Ms. Carlia?"
"I'm sorry Mrs. Battle. Some things transpired at home."
She nodded her head and replied, "I want you to see me after class Reese. I'll write you a note to give to your next teacher."
"Yes ma'am."
She sent me to my seat. Once I sat down Reyna noticed my hands and started asking questions. I didn't feel like coming up with an excuse, so I just told her the truth. Once I finished, I noticed her eyes were black and I knew she was mad. My wolf is mad as well. She hates that she has to see me go through this every day, but I told her not to do anything because I didn't want them to know I was a wolf just yet.
I got so lost in my thoughts that I didn't even know it was time to go. Reyna told me that she'll see me at lunch, and I said okay. Once everybody was gone Mrs. Battle came toward me and sat down.
"If it's okay with you, can I ask what happened?"
"I burned them by accident and fell down some stairs." I lied and hoped that she would buy it, but by the look on her face she didn't. "Sweetheart, I can tell when someone is lying so can you please be honest with me. I promise I won't tell anyone." I sighed in relief that she wouldn't tell anyone and began telling her the same thing I told Reyna. Once I finished I noticed her eyes turned black as well.
"Why would they do something like that?"
"I didn't greet the new alpha, which is Greyson. I mean everybody in the pack house beats me, so I don't see the point."
"I understand." She nodded. Please don't say anything. I begged her. "I promise. I won't say anything Reese." She reassured me and I said, "Thank you."
"You're welcome, Reese, and here's your note for your next class." *She hands me my note for class.*
"Okay, see you later Mrs. Battle, and thank you."
After our talk, I left and went to music class. Once I got there, I gave Mrs. Alicia my note and sat down. She said that we could have a free day, so I just closed my eyes and started humming Halo by Beyoncé. As time went by the bell rang and I got up and went to find Reyna. Once I met up with Reyna I asked her if she could come to the nurse's office with me and she said yes.
When we got to the nurse I asked her if she could check my ribs and hands for me and she said yes.
Nurse: So how did this happen?
Me: My mom and dad did it because I didn't greet the alpha.
Nurse: Oh, you poor thing.
Me: It's fine, just please don't tell anybody.
Nurse: Okay sweetie, I won't tell.
Me: Thank you.
Nurse: You're welcome. Now, the only thing you have to do is keep putting gauze on your hands and your ribs. Also don't forget to use burn cream. As for your ribs, don't put too much strain on your body and you'll be okay.
Me: Okay thank you.
Nurse: You're welcome.
When I left the nurse's office, Reyna was waiting for me. I told her what happened, and she said that's good. We went to the cafeteria to get something to eat. When we were finished we just talked until the next period.
Reyna: Guess what tomorrow is!
Me: I know! It's our birthday!
Reyna: I can't wait. We're supposed to find our mates tomorrow. I just hope my mate isn't from this pack.
Me: I agree, but I just hope whoever my mate is, they don't reject me.
Reyna: I don't think they will. You're too pretty and if they do then they're stupid.
Me: *smiles* Thanks, Rey.
Reyna: *smiles back* You're welcome. Now let's go to the gym.
Me: Alright.
We left the cafeteria and went straight to the gym. I told the coach that I wouldn't be able to participate because of my injuries so he told me that I could sit out. I sat down on the bleachers and just watched everybody play dodgeball. I wish I could play, but I can't and it's all my dad's fault. Somebody thought it would be funny to throw a ball at me. When I looked to see who threw it, I saw Rebecca smirking at me. Everyone started laughing except Reyna.
I was so mad that I knew my eyes were changing colors. I looked down so nobody could see, got up, and walked out of class before I ended up hurting somebody. While I was walking, I heard footsteps behind me and instantly knew it was Reyna, so I stopped and turned around. "Are you okay?" she asked me. I nodded my head and said, "Yeah I'm okay."
"I noticed your eyes changing color." I nervously asked, "Nobody saw, did they?" She shook her head and replied, "Nobody saw." I breathed a sigh of relief, "Okay good."
As soon as we finished talking, the bell rang for us to leave. After saying our goodbyes, we headed home. My hands ended up healing while I was walking to the house due to Akela. As soon as I got home, I made dinner and walked downstairs to my room. Since I didn't have any homework, I put my pajamas on and got in bed. Before I closed my eyes I thanked the moon goddess that I didn't get beat and fell asleep.
