Chapter 5

I woke up a little bit early today because it's Reyna's and my birthday today and I get to find my mate. I could feel my wolf's excitement in our link. I sat up and unwrapped my hands. They were fully healed due to Akela yesterday. I went to the bathroom and got ready for the day. When I was done, I got out and got dressed then went upstairs to fix breakfast. Once that was finished I left and went to school.

When I got to school, I went to my locker and saw Reyna. She's only here to wish me a happy birthday then she's leaving.

"Hey, buttercup."

"Hey, Rey."

"I just wanted to tell you happy birthday before I left."

"Thank you Reyna, and happy birthday to you too!"

"You're welcome Reese and thank you."

"You're welcome Rey. Now go before a teacher sees you."

"Okay." *She hugs me then leaves*

Once she leaves, I open up my locker and get the stuff that I need for my classes and head off to my first class. When I get there, I say hello to Mrs. Battle and go to my seat in the back and sit down.

Mrs. Battle starts the class off by writing notes down on the board and when she's finished she turns to us and tells us to copy them. So we all took out some paper and did just that. There were a lot of notes to copy, but as soon as I finished copying them I told Mrs. Battle and she said okay and to wait for everyone else to finish.

Once everybody was finished, Mrs. Battle started to talk about this movie called the Odyssey and how we are going to watch it and then read the book afterward to compare the two. I must've zoned out while she was talking because she yelled my name, "Reese!" I jumped and looked at her. "Yes, Mrs. Battle?"

"Are you okay?" she asked. I could hear the concern in her voice. I just nodded my head and replied with a yes.

She nodded, and asked, "Would you mind repeating what I just said?"

"You said we're going to be reading and watching the Odyssey."

"Okay and please pay attention."

"Yes ma'am."

She continued to talk about the Odyssey and everything that we needed to do when the bell rang. I got my stuff and went to the next class which was music. When I got there Mrs. Alicia called me over to her desk to tell me she had something for me. "I wanted to tell you happy birthday and that I got you something."

I blushed, "Thank you, Mrs. Alicia, but you didn't have to get me anything."

"You're welcome Reese and I know, but I wanted to. Here is your first present. *She hands me a little box* I found out that your favorite animal was a wolf, so I got you a charm bracelet with different types of wolves up there."

"Thank you, Mrs. Alicia. I appreciate it." I really did appreciate that she took the time to get me something. She really didn't have to get me anything.

"You're welcome and here is your second present. *She hands me another box* I know that you love music and everything to do with it, so I got you a necklace with music notes up there."

*I smiled and hugged her* "Again, thank you, Mrs. Alicia. You really didn't have to get me anything."

*She smiled and hugged me back* You're welcome, Reese and it was no problem.

I thanked Mrs. Alicia again and headed to my seat in the back. Once I got to my seat I sat down and did my work. After that, I started humming 'Bottle you up' by Zendaya because I like that song. Once everybody was finished, Mrs. Alicia told us to turn our papers in. Once all the papers were turned in the bell rang. I walked to my locker, put all my stuff up, and then left for lunch.
