Chapter 21

Greyson's POV

I woke up early and went through my usual routine before heading downstairs to the pack meeting. I contacted Sean through our mind link and gave him instructions to gather everyone outside in the backyard. After waiting for everyone to arrive, I explained that we were planning an attack on the Silver Moon Pack.

I added that this was because they had killed one of our pack members, and we needed a new Luna. Reese, who belonged to our pack and was also the rightful Luna, was going to be taken back and accepted as mine.

A pack member raised a concern about Reese already having a mate, but I growled in response, insisting that she was mine and would be coming with us. After announcing the plan to attack the Silver Moon Pack in three days, I informed the pack members that the women and children who could fight would be joining us, while the rest would stay behind to protect the house.

Another pack member had concerns about the safety of the children, but I growled and insisted that my only concern was getting Reese back. I ordered everyone to start training and instructed Sean to assist in the training while I went to my office for some alone time.

Sean nodded and followed my orders, leaving to help train the pack. However, unbeknownst to me, my wolf Drake reached out to Reese's wolf, Akela, to warn her about the forthcoming battle. While I had rejected Reese and her wolf, Drake still cared about them and wanted to do what he could to protect them.

Drake hesitated before reaching out to Reese's wolf, Akela. He knew it wasn't the best idea, but he knew he had to warn them. 'Akela? Can you hear me?' he asked.

'Yes, Drake, I can hear you,' Akela responded. 'What do you need?'

'I just wanted to apologize for my human's mistake,' Drake admitted, sorrow evident in his voice.'I told him not to do it, but he wouldn't listen. I never wanted that to happen. I know you and Reese found your second chance, mate, but I'll always care about you two, and I'm glad that you're happy.'

'What's done is done,' Akela said, trying to reassure him. 'You don't have to apologize for your human's actions. It's not your fault. I know you didn't want it to happen, but it did. Reese and I found our second mate, and we're happy. We will always care about you, too. Drake. I hope you will be free of that human and find a new mate that will make you happy. I also want you to know that you'll always be a part of our pack, Drake. Now, is there something else that you wanted to talk to me about?'

'Yes, I just wanted to inform you that Greyson has devised battle plans to attack your pack. His intentions are to claim Reese as his own, forcing her into a position of power as Luna while exploiting her for his personal desires. He also plans to kill Reyna, use Rebecca as a sex slave, and assign Ashley to a maid role. To exert control over you and Reese, Greyson intends to execute your mate in front of you, leaving you with no alternative but to join his pack and assume the role of Luna. Every single member of his pack, including the children, will be fighting. When one of his members expressed concern for the children, Greyson blatantly disregarded their safety, stating that he only wanted Reese.'

Akela angrily paces and lets out a loud growl. 'Greyson will not succeed in his plans! Do you know when he's planning to attack? Please don't worry, Drake, we won't harm any children. I'll assign some of my top warriors to protect them and prevent their involvement in the war. Children should never be subjected to such violence. I'll also bring this matter to the Moon Goddess. Thank you for warning me, Drake.'

'He's planning to attack in three days. You're right to prioritize the well-being of innocent children who shouldn't be caught in the middle of a violent conflict. Thank you for being a responsible leader. If it's not too much trouble, could you please ask the Moon Goddess if she could transfer me to another when Greyson is defeated so I can find my second chance, mate? And you're welcome, Akela.'

'We will make sure to prepare ourselves and be ready to face Greyson's attack within three days. It's our duty as leaders to protect our people, especially the innocents. You have my word that I will speak to the Moon Goddess to grant your request to find your second chance mate after Greyson is defeated. You deserve happiness, and we will do all we can to ensure it.'

'Thank you, Akela. I appreciate your willingness to help, and I'll talk to you soon.'

'You're welcome, Drake. Take care and see you soon.'

With their conversation coming to an end, Drake resumed his surveillance of Greyson's actions. He and Greyson are no longer communicating, and if they do talk, it's only arguments. After their conversation, Akela promptly informed Reese and their mate Akeba of the news Drake shared. They will take the necessary precautions and prepare for the impending war that is to come.
