Chapter 16

|First Date|

I woke up with Akeba's arm wrapped around my waist, so I gently picked up his arm, slid out of bed, put a pillow where I was laying, and put his arm back down I slipped on my slides and went downstairs. Once downstairs, I went into the kitchen and saw that I was the only one in there, so I decided to make everybody breakfast. I got all the ingredients to make pancakes, eggs, toast, sausage, and bacon.

After I got all the ingredients, I started to get to work. Soon, I felt arms go around my waist, and I looked to see that it was Akeba. I just smiled and continued to make breakfast when Akeba asked, "So what are you making?"

"I'm making pancakes, eggs, toast, sausage, and bacon."

"Mm. That sounds good."

"You sound better."

He smirked. "So do you, baby."

I smiled in response. "Do you have any meetings today?"

"Yeah, in a few hours," he replied while sighing. "Okay, well, go wash your hands and wake everybody up so they can eat."

"Ok, baby." He gave me a kiss on the cheek and then left to go do what I said. Once he left, I got the plates and everything ready and set them out on the table. After that, I got the food and set it on the table, I turned everything off and went to the refrigerator and got some orange juice and milk, and put that on the table as well. After everything was finished and set up, I yelled, "Everybody, breakfast is ready!"

I soon heard pounding footsteps indicating that they were running and saw everyone coming down the stairs and into the kitchen; some even fell, and it was funny. The last ones to come down were Damali, Nasir, and their baby girl Imara. She is so cute. I can't wait until Akeba and I have our own kids one day, but I can wait on that. I walked over to Damali. "Hey guys and aww, look at her. She's so cute." I exclaimed.

"Hey Luna, and thank you," they replied while smiling.

"So how have you guys been?" I asked. "We've been good. Just focusing on this little one, " They replied.

Me: That's good. If you guys ever need a babysitter, just let me know, okay?

"Okay, we will."

They went into the kitchen to get them something to eat and fix Imara a bottle. I decided that I was gonna eat after everybody fixed their plate, so I just went into the living room and watched TV. After everyone got their plates, I got up and went into the kitchen to see Akeba fixing two plates. I walked over to the table, and he handed me my plate. I smiled and thanked him.

We ate our food in silence but it was a good one. I looked at Akeba, and he looked like he was thinking about something, so I broke the silence and asked, "Akeba, what are you thinking about?"

"It's nothing." He replied. I looked at him, unsure. "Are you sure? Because you look like you're thinking about something really important."

"Yes, Reese, I'm sure."

"Okay. Whatever you say."

I had a feeling that he was lying to me, but I didn't say anything. I just finished my food, then got up and washed my plate. I went upstairs and changed into something I could run in and went back downstairs to the front door. As I was about to step outside, Akeba stopped me and asked, "Reese, where are you going?"

"I'm going for a run."

"Okay,"

"Okay." I then left the house.

Akeba's POV

I knew Reese could tell that I was lying, but I couldn't tell her that I was thinking about how to ask her on a date. I mean, that would ruin the whole surprise, so I just decided to go ask Reyna what she thinks will be the best way to ask Reese out because I don't have any ideas. So with that, I got up and went to go look for Reyna, I found her in the living room with Dean watching TV, so I went and sat down on the couch next to them. I looked at Reyna. "Hey Reyna, I need your help."
