Max x Reader x Barney - Surgery

It was the day you've been dreading, surgery day.

You wanted this but you were terrified of injections and going under.

But luckily your boyfriends, Max and Barney would be there until you fell asleep at the table.
Driving there was making your nerves go haywire, Barney was in the back trying to comfort you while Max drove. "Baby, we'll be there the whole time, holding your hand until you fall asleep." He reaches his hand behind him to rub your knee since that was only thing he could touch while he drove.

The hospital was in view now and you were about to have a panic attack but you calmed down just enough to make it through the front doors.
"Hello, were here for y/n l/n's surgery." Max says to the receptionist, she smiles and quickly looks through her schedule, seeing your name. "Yep, follow me, we'll get everything prepared." He motions for you and the boys to follow.

You changed in the hospital gown and got into the bed they had for you, Barney and Max held your hand the whole walk to the surgery room, Barney stood on one side next to the female doctor holding the oxygen mask that would put you to sleep, while Max was on the other side, holding your other hand.

Your anxiety was slowing simmering down as you fell deeper and deeper into the realm of sleep.
"Don't worries baby, we'll be's here when you wakeded up." Barney kisses your hand.
Max kisses your other hand, "your feel so much better about yourself after this, sleep good okay?" He smiles.
You nod just before your world turns black.

Now it's 5 hours later, your in the recovery room asleep, dreaming about having a party with your friends.
But it was short lived when someone from your past showed up and started drama with you about your new body.

"You'll never amount to anything, maybe a pig will wanna marry you! Haha." They laughed.

You started to cry, begging to be woken up from this hell of a nightmare.

"Y/N!" Someone yelled, it startled you so bad that you woke up quickly and a searing pain shot through your body making you cry out.
"Y/n?! Baby it's okay," Max quickly shook Barney awake then walked to you, "I'm right here doll, shh." He coos.

Barney moves your hair out of your face, kissing you forehead gently, "yous okay baby, I'm here's too." He strokes your hair with his thumb.
While Max goes to get a nurse, while Barney comforts you, "it's okay baby, I'ms here." He coos, rubbing his nose against yours affectionately.
It made you giggle slightly but it didn't last long as the pain was becoming too much.

Thankfully the nurse came in and administered something to help the pain and to make you sleep.

*Returning Home*

Max had gotten you into bed and you chose to watch one of his videos.
"I'll be back in about an hour okay? I'm gonna go record a video." He said, kissing your forehead.
You nodded, Max closed the door only leaving a few inches between the door itself and the frame, to listen out.

Barney was our grocery shopping and wouldn't be back for another hour, the house was silent, except for the occasional laugh or angered yell from Max in the next room over. To others it would've been annoying, but to you, it was soothing.
You loved Max's laughs, but when he got mad, it made you blush a deep crimson red, it was one of the main reasons you fell in love with him, you yourself had a temper but it definitely overtopped his by a bunch.

Sometime later you fell asleep, arms crossed over your chest and the tv still playing Max's video.

Max's POV

I finished recording for the day and went to check on y/n, I cracked open the door just enough to poke my head inside, they were asleep as peacefull as can be.

I went downstairs to watch tv for a bit, until Barney came home.
"How's are they's?" Barney asks me as he puts away groceries.
"Fine, they're asleep right now, so hopefully a few hours of rest will help." I answer.

Max puts away the rest of the groceries while Barney goes upstairs to check on y/n.

No POV

Barney peeked his head in, seeing you asleep, he smiled to himself seeing you content and not in pain, it always broke his heart to see you in pain.

He walked in, carefully making sure not to make any noise to wake you up, he sat on the bed, taking in your sleep form.
He eventually smiled, leaned down and kissed your forehead then left you to sleep. "Sleeps wells baby." He covers you up then leaves.

It's around 4:30, Barney was cooking dinner and Max was heading up stairs to wake you up, he opened the door and peeked inside.
You were still asleep, laying on your side, he crept in going to your side of the bed, he sat down, brushing your hair out of your face.
"Baby, time to wake up," Max rubs your cheeks gently with his hands, you stir a little but don't wake up, Max goes down stairs to find Barney setting the table to eat, "mind coming to help wake up our baby?" He smiles.
Barney nods, going upstairs, your still asleep but now your on your back.
"Baby's, you gots to wakeded up for us." He kisses your cheek, your face scrunched up but that still didn't wake you up.

"Maybe that surgery knocked out a lot more then we realized." Max stated.
"Definitely's." Barney nodded.
"Babydoll, you gotta wake up for us, we made your favorite, breakfast." Max cooed, he leaned down kissing your hair and rubbed your arms while Barney occupied himself with massaging your hips.

All the affection finally made you stir, you groggily groaned and stretched making the cutest start up noises that made the boys melt.
"You hungry's sweetpea?" Barney gently massaging your head.
"Mhm." You yawn again.

They help you out of bed and downstairs, "we made breakfast for dinner." Max gestured to the set table.
"Can't wait for dig in." You smile.

You eat until your full, then go to the couch to cuddle with your boys, you fall asleep on Barney's chest while he strokes your hair.

All that surgery was worth it if it meant all the affection that came with it.
