A/N: Hey guys! Coyote here, this is a sad story, I'm making this a Barney x reader because I feel like Barney would understand the most about Loona's  grief. Loona's parents died naturally and quickly and everyone from the offices fly down to Florida to grieve with Loona for her loss. Memories and stories are shared. I think I'll make this a particularly long chapter. I'm actually about to cry while writing this. Btw the parents are 95, Loona is in her mid 40's and this far into the future.

⚠️Warning⚠️: Grieving, Loss, Lots of crying, Thoughts of failure.

Loona's POV

It happened in the middle of the night with no explanation. They both just faded away, and left no warning and I didn't even get to say goodbye. How did I find out? My aunt went to go visit them the morning after and found them lying in bed lifeless. The worst part was my birthday was just a week away and I was planning on spending my time down there with them.

I remember that call, day, month, year, time, all of it.

*Flashback To That Day*

It was July 18, 2065. It was exactly 10:00 on the dot.

"Thank you guys for watching I hope you had a great day and I hope you enjoyed this episode of do not laugh with Adam, Max and Jess, I'm CoyoteStarCraft signing out until next time, peace out!"

I got up to get something to drink and headed back to my office to finish up some sketches. At 10:05 I get a phone call from my aunt which is rare because she rarely calls me, we have a good relationship just don't talk much because we have lives to live.

I pick up my phone and hit the answer button, "Hello?" I say.
"Loona?"
"Yeah this is her, is everything okay?" I heard her sniffling on the other line trying her best not to sob.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw Barney standing outside my window telling me that everyone is heading out for lunch soon. I held up a finger to let him know I'll be there in a second. He nods and walks off to let everyone know to wait for me.

"It's your parents..." she says.
I start to panic, "Are they okay? Are they hurt?!" I say.
"They're...uh...they've passed on." She sobs.
Everything just stops, like time has stopped completely. "I...I have to go, thank you for telling me." I hang up and sit in my chair completely spaced out.
What should I do? What can I do? Who should I tell? How long have my parents been gone? A million thoughts were running through my head about this whole situation. I saw my hands shaking violently and my breathing came out in fast breaths. My chest hurt and my legs felt like jelly.

Barney comes looking for me when everyone gets impatient. He sees me sitting in my chair hyperventilating and yells for everyone to come help. Barney opens the door while everyone gathers at my door.

"Love, what happened? You's were fine a second's ago." Barney asks me concern in his voice.
I sit there staring off into space going through my thoughts. Tears started to run down my cheeks and Barney tried pulling me into a hug but I angrily pushed him away causing him to gasp in surprise. I've never done that to him, sure we've had arguments but we've never physically pushed each other away.

"M-my p-parent's." I mumble just enough for Barney to hear. "T-they're gone, g-gone, gone, gone." I kept repeating. "What's do you mean they're's gone?"
"THEY'RE GONE! Dead! What more do you need to hear!?" I yell causing everyone to take a step back. I make an angry noise and push everyone out of the way and run to the bathroom. As soon as I close the door I drop to the floor and sob my heart out.

*Back At Your Office*

"I feels terrible, what am I's gonna do? She just losted her parents. I feel like a bad husband." Barney sighs and puts his head in his hands.
Adam didn't know what to do, if it was any other situation he would make jokes and give encouragement but when someone loses their parents there really isn't a bright side.
