Explanation

_________

Since your return to the Higurashi Shrine was four days ago, you had some family time with the family members. You helped Gramps with some cleaning around the house, made some meals with Ms. Higurashi in the kitchen, and played board games with Sōta in your room.

You've lived with them when you were 10 years old ever since your parents were divorced. Your father visits you from time to time when he's off work. As for your mother... she's not the woman she once was.

Right now, you were sewing up a black and red kimono with white at the tips of the sleeves. The design had Japanese red lily flowers (but in neon blue) at the tip of the sleeves and at the waist down to the bottom.

This kimono was given by an elderly woman back in Domino City two days after the tournament with Pegasus. She says that she didn't have any grandchildren, so the lady would want you to keep it.

And you did as she requested. There was something special about the kimono and you didn't know what it was. After finishing sewing, the kimono was good as new. Smiling at your finished work, you laid out the outfit on your bed while putting away the sewing kit to its respective place. You stretched your arms as you stood up from the floor before heading downstairs.

As you made your to the kitchen to help yourself make tea, Sōta called out to you.

"Y/n!"

"Hm?" You turned to the boy, "What is it, Sōta?"

The boy hands you a box and an envelope. "A mini package came in the mail and says that they're addressed to you."

Confused, you looked at the mailed package and saw the name of a certain duelist from Domino City. You smiled and thanked Sōta before heading back upstairs to your room. You closed the door behind you and set the two items on your desk. You began opening the box and saw another box inside, but it was a rectangular square.

You slowly take the box out of the mail package and opened the box to see a pair of golden earrings with the eye like on Yugi's puzzle.

Since when did Yugi get his hands on this? Is it also part of the Millennium items?

You were so confused but soon laid your eyes on the envelope. Sighing, you placed down the jewelry box and opened up the envelope. A paper was folded and you wondered what was written on it, you began to unfold the paper and read the letter.

Dear Y/n,

I'm sorry that I forgot to give these earrings to you before you left to Tokyo. Ishizu told me to give them to you. They're called the Millennium Earrings, and if you say that they're part of one of the Millennium items, it's not. I don't know why myself either, nor did the Pharaoh as well.
