Friends Reunited, but Encountered the Enemy

Meanwhile in the modern era

It was a beautiful morning as Serenity was walking around the city with a few bags in hand. While doing some errands for her mother, she bumped into Ms. Higurashi and Sōta.

"Oh, I'm sorry."

"It's alright, dear. It's my fault."

The young Wheeler smiled before laying her eyes on Sōta. "And who'd you might be?"

"My name is Sōta, Sōta Higurashi." The boy greeted, "And you are?"

"My apologies, my name is Serenity Wheeler." The girl introduced herself.

"What bring you here to Tokyo, Serenity?" Ms. Higurashi asked, "I've never seen you around these parts of town."

Serenity smiled. "Just doing some errands for my mom. She said she needed some ingredients for dinner tonight."

"Really?"

"Mhm." The girl nodded, "And my big brother, Joey, is coming over to the house next week."

This amazed Sōta.

"Wow, really?" He asked, earning a nod from Serenity, "Where does he live?"

"He lives in Domino City," Serenity said solemnly.

Ms. Higurashi frowned. "Why is that?"

"My big brother and I were together ever since we were little," the brunette sadly smiled as she explained her story, "but when our parents said they'd want a divorce, my mother took custody of me while my father took custody of Joey."

Kagome's mother covered her mouth with no words coming out. Sōta, on the other hand, frowned a bit before smiling.

"But at least he's coming over to your place next week," He said.

Serenity nodded as Ms. Higurashi looked at the time on her watch.

"Well, I think it's time to get home. Who knows what my father-in-law might do while being home alone." The woman smiled as she took her son's hand before saying her goodbyes to Serenity, "Have a good day, young lady."

"You as well, Ms. Higurashi." The young Wheeler waved.

Smiling, the two Higurashi's disappeared into the crowd as Serenity was alone again. She sighed before heading home, wondering what meal to have for tonight.

Meanwhile in Domino City, Yugi and his friends were hanging out at a cafe in the city's plaza. Joey and Tristan argued while Téa tried to stop them. As for the King of Games himself, he was lost in thought. Even though he was telepathically speaking to the Nameless Pharaoh, who has an uneasy feeling about something.

Is something wrong, Yami?
