𝗡𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝗚𝗜𝗩𝗘-𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗬.
One of the best advice I got as I started in my work life some years back was this;
"Your career is in your hands. Your company owes you nothing than the salary you're being paid. You make of your life what you want of it."
Boy! Am I glad I had/have no expectations from the companies I worked/work for!
I get invites and from the day of the interview, I'm already looking at their system of things and culture and saying to myself,
"Man, what value can I bring to this place?"
I've heard divergent views. "They owe you this. They owe you that. They should provide you with this. They should train you on that. You work for them. It's your right..."
You give your freedom away when you live with the dependency mindset!
𝗥𝗘𝗕𝗘𝗟 against that thought process. It's enslaving.
Take responsibility for your life. Take charge of your Path.
The same applies to all facets of life.
I pass this same gift across to you because I reap, on a daily, the 𝗠𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗜𝗣𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗘𝗙𝗙𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗔 𝗥𝗘𝗕𝗘𝗟 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗.
𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗞 𝗩𝗔𝗟𝗨𝗘 𝗔𝗗𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡. That's the way 𝗥𝗘𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗦 think.
Have I been trained by these companies? Yes!
Have I gotten bonuses? Yes!
Have I gotten perks of the jobs? Yes!
Exposure? Yes!
Self-development on the jobs? Yes!
But you see, I don't make all of those my crutch for climbing my ladder. They are opportunities available that matched my 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗦. It all starts with your mindset.
I was once in a place where there was free Wi-Fi connection for the staff and customers. I saw some of the staff download movies and watch skits endlessly. I got in, took advantage of the bonus, and instantly activated and commenced my LinkedIn Management Courses, even as a very junior-cadre staff.
I'll allow my 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗦 to prove my 𝗥𝗘𝗕𝗘𝗟 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗢𝗥𝗬. I have some up my sleeves already, but there's still much to be done.
I was trained to give people hooks and not fishes. Now take your hook and go fish in your river.
