Three, two, one... Finally! The bell had rung and I was going to Lucy's sleepover, she has been my best friend ever since kindergarten and this is the third time in a month that we would be having a sleepover. "Jess!" I heard my name and turned around to see Lucy and Madeline running down the hallway towards me. Madeline came to West Chester in third grade and was one of my good friends.
"Hey Luce, hey Mad!" I exclaimed!
"Hey Jess, what's up?" Said Madeline,
"Ah, nothing much... I am so excited about tonight, hey Mad, can you come?"
"Yeah my mom said I could go"
"Awesome! I am super excited!" Lucy said.
"Hey, you want to go get ice cream?"
"Yeah, but wait I have to get my bag from Mrs. Willis's room."
"Ok, go ahead, come on Mad we'll wait outside."
As Madeline and I waited outside for Lucy to grab her bag I spotted a strange bird staring right at me. I wondered, what would it be like to fly, to be free like that when Lucy crept up behind me and nearly made me fall down the stairs.
"Geez Luce! Don't do that you scared me to death!" I exclaimed.
"Sorry Jess, you were just standing there so I kind of had to" she said.
"Let's just go" said Madeline.
