Lucy, Madeline and I were sleeping over at Lucy's house, after school we went to get ice cream from Kona Ice, my favorite ice cream place. I got mint-chocolate chip as usual, Luce got vanilla, and Mad got red raspberry. We walked over to the park bench to eat our ice cream and Jamie was sitting there with a blue and swollen face.
"Hey Luce, Mad lets go sit with Jamie, look he is all alone over there."
"Oh yeah, let's go" Mad said.
We walked over and I sat closest to Jamie, come to think about it, he kind of cute.
"Hey Jamie!" I said smiling.
"Oh... Hey" he replied in a hurt voice
And then and there I felt awful, I knew exactly what happened, or at least I thought I did until Mad asked, "What happened to your face, not to be rude."
"Oh, Drake punched me"
I was shocked I had always thought of Drake to be a kind person, I had never really gotten to know him, although he was my neighbor.
"Oh my gosh, are you ok it looks like it's starting to swell." Lucy said.
"I'll be fine, it just hurts, ice will help don't worry about me."
"Are you sure Jamie I'm not positive that just ice will do it, do you want to have my mom look at it, she's a doctor." Lucy said.
"Sure, can I come with you guys?"
"Of course! The more the merrier." I said, we all laughed. Jamie looked up into the tree, he seemed shocked, even with a swollen eye, I looked up and saw exactly what he saw, the canary from school.
