I can't shake the feeling, that feeling that someone or something is watching you I seem to get it often but it is really starting to scare me.
"Hey Jess, are you ok?" Jamie asked.
"Oh yeah, I'll be fine."
"Wait what's wrong?"
"Oh, well you know that feeling that something is watching and you just can't get rid of it, well I don't know why but lately I've been feeling that a lot."
"Huh, that's strange so have I."
Jamie has been my new boyfriend for about a week or two, any way Matthew likes the new girl, Maggie so it worked out well. There was rustling in the trees and small chirps as something fell.
"Jess look it the Canary from school!"
"Why is it here, do you think that is what has been giving us that strange feeling, it's a logical explanation."
"Maybe, Jess look at it wing, I think it's broken we should take it home."
"But will your parents like it?"
"Jess, my mom used to be a Amazonian Biologist who had to be with all sorts of animals, you know as well as I do that she will be fine with it."

We walked home with the canary in my hands, it's feathers we're soft like a cloud and its eyes were dark as night it chirped softly and quietly while it's right wing lay motionless, hurt, dying. But as we walked it turned its head towards the abandoned farmhouse where I had last seen it. And then I wondered, is there a connection between the McCarthey's old farm and the small timid Canary?
"Jess!"
I was startled certainly not expecting that, I looked up and I had walked past his house, whoops.
"Sorry Jamie, kind of drifted of."
"Hey that's fine, mom I'm home!"
"Hello Jess." his mom rounded the corner into the kitchen.
"And what no hi for me?" Jamie asked sarcastically.
"Hi my little Jamie Wamie, how are you sugar poo, my little baby boy come give me kissies!" She said mockingly. I laughed at that.
"So Jess what bring you here, Jamie hasn't been getting in trouble has he?"
"No ma'am, well Jamie and I found this bird after school, a canary and it had hurt is wing." I gestured towards the bird and lifted it up slowly so that Mrs. White could see it, then Suzie, Jamie's sister walked in.
"Jess!" She jumped into my arms.
"Hey Suze! What's up I haven't seen you in forever your practically my height!" Obviously not because I was almost in seventh grade and she was in second, but hey kids are kids. I looked up and Jamie's mother was studying the Canary, pale and open-mouthed she sputtered, "J-Jamie J-J-Jess where did you f-find this?" She asked demandingly obviously wanting an explanation.
"It fell out of a tree while we were walking home." Jamie supplied.
"Is there a problem?" I asked.
"Well I would say so, this Canary is a very special and rare specimen! It's kind is supposedly extinct and now, this is insane you two have found an extinct Canary that was believed to be gone one-hundred years ago!"
"Oh my god!" We said in unison. This is crazy, how could this be possible thoughts ran through my head like a traffic jam on Blanding Avenue around three o'clock! And the funny part was that I think I k ew where more were.
