It's been a month since Mayas accident, they were now in February, the scaring had managed to heal completely apart from a few patches on her stomach.
Carina had stayed over the night before because it was her birthday today, they wanted to spend time together as the twins would be at day care and Maya had booked the day off to spend with the Italian.
Maya opened her eyes, wincing at the bright light spilling through the blinds.
She turned on her side and frowned when she saw an empty bed, carina was no longer laying with her, she wanted to wake up in the arms of the brunette.
"Happy birthday too you..." Mayas attention however turned to the door when she saw carina carrying a tray with a delicious looking breakfast on it, and the boys holding little bags with what Maya assumed to be presents in them.
"Birthday mama" carina placed the breakfast on the floor beside the bed because she knew the twins would get excited and knock it over if she was to put it on the bed.
Mayas heart melted at the thought of how much time and effort carina had put into this little occasion.
Maya never used to celebrate her birthday growing up, her dad was always making her train even when it was her birthday, that's part of what ruined it.
Rustle thrust a pink bag in Mayas face as he waited for her to open it.
Maya smiled at the little boy as she grabbed him by the hip and placed him against her side so he could watch her open the gift.
Max stood beside Maya looking curiously at the gift bag to see Mayas reaction so what rustle had gotten her.
Mayas heart melted as she spotted a little book, a picture of carina and the boys on the front and the title being 'memories' she opened the book and willed herself to not cry when she saw the numerous photos over the course that they have known each other.
Their was the photo of rustle and carina in the park, the photo Maya had taken, how she had managed to get that from Mayas phone she has no idea, she's glad she did though because she loved that photo.
"Awe baby this is amazing" she placed the present aside and squeezed rustle with her arm around his waist.
She pulled him down slightly so she could give him a soft kiss to the cheek, the boy smiling and then using his hand to wipe it away when he thought the woman wasn't looking.
"Mama opn my prwesent" max waved his bag and waited patiently for the blonde to open his gift bag.
"Alright my love" she took the bag from max and opened the top of the bag, she noticed the little black box and took it out so she could see what was inside.
She opened the lid and she smiled at what she saw.
It was a bracelet, it was made out of string stained brown and in the middle was a circular frame which held a picture of the twins, it was a photo from Halloween when they dressed up.
She smiled down at the gift and turned towards max who was smiling at his mothers reaction.
"Thank you sweetheart" max stood up so he could wrap his arms around Mayas neck and give her a hug.
"Welcome" she gave him a kiss to the side of his face, he didn't wipe it off though, it was safe to say max was a mommas boy.
Maya looked over at the brunette who had now perched herself on the bed, she was already dressed for the day, as were the twins.
"I'll give you my presents later Bella" she smiled at the blonde as she leant down to retrieve the tray with the breakfast she had prepared and placed it over Mayas lap.
