Chapter 8: Team JNPR

Naruto woke up earlier and left the dorm. He saw Hinata standing there, waiting for him.

Naruto: What is it?

Hinata: Just one small idea I just suggested to the Headmaster. For a week, we'll switch teams, I'll lead your team, you lead mine.

Naruto: (raises an eyebrow) Familiarizing yourself with sister teams?

Hinata: (nods) That's right. You can also do the same with mine.

Naruto: Fine. No doubt my team will be wondering where I am and you yours so we better clear up the misunderstandings.

Hinata: Duly noted. See you around.

Naruto managed to find Team JNPR's dorm and saw the entire team standing there before him.

Jaune: Hinata told us about your plan, saying that you're to be our leader for the week.

Naruto: Got to love her foresight. Everyone, I just want to let you know that this time of...adjustment won't be easy with me so please bear with me as I try to cooperate with you.

Ren: We understand your situation, Naruto.

Nora: Guess that means you have the cut of our pancakes, boss!

Naruto: You call Hinata that too?

Nora: Called her Big Sis actually. She gave up trying to get me to stop.

Naruto: Fine. Won't matter what you call me.

Pyrrha: I remember you from Mistral competition.

Naruto: And I you. Fought to a draw because the time ran out.

Pyrrha: I hope to beat that someday, doesn't matter if I win or lose.

Naruto: (nods) Let's go outside. Professor Good witch will be doing combat classes soon.

It was Jaune vs Cardin and it wasn't going too well. Despite Ruby and several others cheering for him, Naruto knew better as he leaned back and crossed his arms.

Naruto: (leaning towards Pyrrha) Jaune's going to lose. I know it.

Pyrrha: How'd you know?

Naruto: He's too inexperienced, doesn't have a semblance and no aura.

Pyrrha bit her lip as she saw Jaune had indeed lose against Cardin.

That is where Pyrrha tried to offer him training but the man declined. Naruto began to be suspicious and ordered Pyrrha to be accompany him as they trail Jaune one night. They followed him to the rooftop of the school.

Cardin: Thanks for throwing that fight. Then again, you were always lame with that sword. You keep losing when it comes to me and I'll keep quiet about your transcripts.

Jaune: Sure.

Naruto and Pyrrha looked at each other wondering what did Cardin meant by that.

Cardin: Tell you what, that asshat Naruto is now the supreme leader of your team. You're going to keep an eye on him and then report to me if there's anything I can use to blackmail him. I'm going to report to Ozpin and boot him out of Beacon. You can be the leader of your team and your transcripts will be safe.

Jaune: Sure, I can do that.

Cardin: Great, thanks! You're a great friend, Jaune! I'll see you tomorrow!

Jaune turned to the railing, just staring into the horizon while Cardin turned to leave. As soon as he went inside, Naruto grabbed him and choke hold him to unconscious.
