~~~Elizabeth's POV~~~
Elizabeth heard the door open and looked to see Alec walk in. "Hey Alec, grandma and I have been waiting for you." Alec smiled weakly and took a a seat at the table. "What's for dinner, Eliza?" I turned and smiled at him, "It's a secret!" I sat down at the table with Alec and winked at him, "One of grandmas specialties."
Alec and I continued talking until grandma walked in with supper. "Hey, this looks really good Ms. Moore!" (Yes my name is Elizabeth Moore, I've been neglecting to tell you) Grandma took a seat and smiled at Alec, "You're too sweet Alec." We all dished up, and chowed down on dinner.
"Thanks for feeding me Mrs. Moore," Alec said bowing politely. I got up and took our dishes to the sink and washed them. Alec walked over and joined, helping me wash them. "Alec... About earlier..." Alec silenced me with a wave of his hand, "It was all my fault, I got scared." Alec, scared? I thought to myself. That's something that I never pictured.
Alec waved goodbye and left, so I went upstairs into my room. I changed into my lounge clothes and got in bed. "Today was a great day." I said to myself, snuggling under the covers. Before I knew it I was fast asleep.
I was at the fountain, standing in it. People were surrounding me and chanting in a strange language. Alec was wearing blood red robes, and holding a dagger. Suddenly, he threw me down and chanted even louder. I whipped my head around trying to make sense of everything, when I felt a sharp pain. Alec had pierced my stomach with the dagger. He drug it upwards, opening the hole even more. All I could hear were my screams and the sounds of all the people chanting. All of a sudden, an evil, cruel looking man wearing all black climbed out from inside me. He let out a horrible cackle, turning to me. He reached into my chest and ripped out my still beating heart. All there was, is darkness. I was lost in the void for eternity.
I screamed awake and clutched my chest. There was no hole and no man. Panting, I tried to calm myself. "It was just a dream," I muttered to myself. I looked around my small, dull room and sighed. I wondered what this dream could mean. Groaning I launched myself at my bed and soon fell back asleep.
I awoke sometime later and looked at my clock. "Damn, only 5am." Slowly, I rose from bed and yawned. I walked into the kitchen and poured myself some milk. Gulping it down, I thought about Alec. I really like him... I decided thoughtfully. Putting on a worn coat, I went out the door.
Walking in to town a lot of people smile and wave, asking how I am and such. People were pretty friendly around here, which I'm grateful for. I explored the market, seeing what was for sale. On some days, there's different things for sale, it's kind of seasonal. I walked into the bakery I work at. Harry's eyes traveled lazily over to my entering figure. He frowned, not exactly happy to see me. "Oh look who it is, Elizabeth is actually alive." Sitting down, my fingers drummed against the surface of a table. "That's what I came to talk to you about, I'm sorry I haven't been around but I've been busy." Harry glared at me, "This is a job, a lot of people want them since there isn't enough. People who would actually work and not slack off. You know, those who would actually come to work."
"Look, I'm sorry, but I actually do need to quit. I've been too busy around my cottage lately, helping out my grandma." Harry sighed, "Okay, I'll give you your last payment and that will be that." I nodded, relieved. "Thanks, hey, do you think I could get a few loaves of fresh bread?" Harry nodded, going behind the counter. A few moments later he came out with a basket, fresh bread inside it. "Here you go," Harry also handed me a small pouch with some money in it. I handed him the money for the bread. "Thanks Harry, I'll try to visit the bakery often to say hey." He waved at me, "Bye Elizabeth!"
A few hours later I found myself at the market, a few other people shopping there. Just browsing through all the goods. Someone tapped me from behind and I turned around. She had curly red hair, but it was stringy looking. Almost like she never washed her hair. I wondered, how on earth could someone go around like that?
