Lindy's POV
All the sudden I am surrounded by these strangers! Demanding that I go with them! I don't trust these people. Earlier I decided to trust that spider because I didn't remember until it was too late, so maybe they are all monsters too. Maybe they are going to kidnap me, or maybe they'll use me as a human sacrifice! I slowly started backing away from them as panic bubbled up within me. "I don't know you." I murmured quietly. The one with the black hair and emerald eyes, Jesse, I think it was, stepped forward and began to talk. "Look, we just want to help you. There are more people just like you waiting in Beacontown. You can trust us!" She said. "How do I know this isn't a trick?" I asked as a rest my hand on Larry's head. The bearded one, Ivor I think, huffed in annoyance. "Jesse, she isn't cooperating! And she's losing more blood by the second! We'll have to knock her out and bring her back to Beacontown." Ivor sighed. I didn't know who they were or what they would do to me, but I had to get out of here, and fast. I tried to lift my tired legs to run, but instead they buckled beneath me, Larry jumping ahead to break my fall. I leaned on Larry's shoulder, his cow face full of concern. A searing pain ran through them, and well, everywhere else. I wanted to scream, but I couldn't show weakness to these strangers. "I- I'm not going anywhere." I groaned out with pain. "Lukas, the darts." I heard a voice say. "Ivor, but" Another voiced said as it was cut off. "It's for her own good! She won't make it much longer without medical attention!" A voice sharply said. "Yeah, I'm with Ivor on this one. She's too confused to understand." Larry started pushing me away from these strangers and we tried to move as fast as we could. Then, I heard a bow string snap, and I felt a prick on my arm. My vision was become blurry. I heard Larry moo a heartbroken cry, and he stood in front of me trying to protect me. That was the last thing I remembered before everything went black.
Lukas' POV
I didn't want to have to shoot that lady with the tranquilizer dart, but I guess like Ivor said, it was for her own good. I still felt bad about it though. I can't even imagine what it must be like to wake up one day and not know where you were or how you got there. I noticed a cow standing next to the woman and looking at her. It noticed me and immediately took a defense stance in front of her. "Hey, we aren't going to hurt you." I told the cow. The cow glanced at its unconsciousness owner and then back at me. It looked sadly over at the rest of my group. We were all armed, it knew it wouldn't stand a chance. Jesse, Ivor and Petra were lifting the woman off her feet, preparing to carry her back to town. "Lukas, can you get that cow to come with us? I think they knew each other!" Jesse said as they started walking towards town. "Come on." I told the cow. It looked suspiciously at me. "Your owner is going to be just fine after we get into town, she's heading there as well." I explained as I started walking. The cow soon followed after me. As we walked, the cow kept its eyes glued on its owner. "She's just sleeping, we only did it so we could get her into the town clinic. She'll wake up soon." I assured the bovine. Petra, who had fallen behind from Jesse and Ivor, who were carrying the woman to town, strode beside me. "Lukas, you're seriously talking to animals!? We already have enough Jesses for this group." Petra scowled, but then grinned. "I know, it is like Jesse, but I just feel bad for them. I think the cow and the lady must have been close." I responded. "Ok Jesse, whatever you say!" She said with a mischievous smile. We walked up to the gates of town, and they opened with a screech. "Man, I really have got to get the screechy gates fixed!" Jesse panted in annoyance. Thankfully, the clinic wasn't too far from the gates. We walked in, and the sight amazed me. Almost every bed was full, though the refugee we had just brought was in the worst shape of them all. Jesse and Ivor placed her on a bed while me and Petra took in the stunning and horrifying sight. "This is just... terrible." Petra whispered under her breath. The cow immediately walked over to his owner's bedside.
Lindy's POV
Darkness, that's all I saw, until my vision cleared. I saw blood. I heard terror. I wanted to run, but I had to stay. I had to fight. I knew I was being hunted, but I couldn't give up, not just yet. I hid behind a sandstone building, trying to reassess my injuries. I heard an explosion from behind me. "No!!!!!!!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. Brightness shown in through my eyelids. Suddenly, I realized, I wasn't there at all. I was laying in a hospital bed, with bloody bandages coating my body. I was wearing a hospital gown. "Where-How?" I stuttered. "Ah, you've awoken!" A nurse told me. She had dark skin, and black hair tied into pigtails, she was wearing a long, red nurse gown. "Where?" I stuttered once again. "I'm sorry, but I don't have the answers you might be looking for. No one knows what happened, but many injured people have been coming into town with no memories of what happened to them." She gently explained to me. "Oh, and you might wanna tell your cow to calm down a bit." Another voice said. I looked to see the source of the new voice. Another nurse I assume, he was bulky and wearing green scrubs. He had bushy black hair and he was pointing to a hoof print on his face as he spoke. "Axel, no one told you to try to dress it up in a matching jacket and take a selfie with it!" The first nurse said. I guess the one over there was Axel then. "Olivia, well, I just sorta thought it would be cool. It's like the coolest thing that ever happened to this clinic, and if we're volunteering here anyways..." He trailed off. I noticed a snout nudge my hand. I looked over, and it was the only familiar thing in this place. "Larry!" I exclaimed as I threw my arms around him. "Larry, that's his name? It's a nice name." Olivia said. "Yeah, but he kicked me." Axel whined. "Speaking of which, what is your name? If you remember, that is." Olivia asked. "Lindy." I replied. I suddenly became more aware of my surroundings. There were hospital beds and almost every single one was full. "What's going on?" I asked them. "We don't know anything more then you. These injured people just keep coming, and they don't know anything. It's not good." Axel said somberly.
