Daisy
I’m starting to feel a bit anxious. Harriet and Alex have been out a while, and the rumors aren’t stopping. Andrew is sat in the corner, silent, looking very… resigned. He looks lost, and I understand why. Luna keeps chiming up suggestions about what they might be doing, and every single one makes Andrew look more hopeless.
“Maybe, Alex-“
“STOP, LUNA!” Says Andrew, suddenly mad with fury. She quivers for a moment, then a sly smile creeps onto her face.
“What?” She says with a grin.
“I can’t take it. I need to find Harriet!”
“No!” I say. Everybody looks my way, and I can feel the desperation settling over me.
“No. Andrew. Give them five more minutes-“
“I’ve done that. Four times!”
He has tears sparkling in his eyes, and he really is attractive. I look over at Luna, who for a second seems lost in a hazy world of his image.
“Mm mm.” I say, and Luna blinks for a moment, then looks over, awkward.
I’ve never seen Luna awkward.
Andrew narrows his eyes slightly at Luna.
“..What?..”
Well, we’ve got our distraction.
“Nothing.” She says. “Now go get Harriet!”
Does Luna…
“Luna?” Andrew asks.
“What?” She says, and everybody goes silent.
Does Luna actually…
“What?”
Really…
“What!?”
Like…
“OK! Whatever! I like Andrew!”
OMG.
Andrew looks over at her, as if he has just been slapped in the face.
“At least someone does.” He says, finally having found a way to spit bitterness towards Harriet.
“Harriet likes you…” I begin gently.
“Really?” He says, suddenly angry. “Because if I find them, and they are kissing. Or flirting. Or whatever the HELL Harriet might do with him! I will personally kill every single one of you!” Tears are falling down his face, silently, as he leaves the room with a deadly pause.
“I’m leaving.” He says, storming out into the woods the direction they walked towards.
“No, Andrew, WAIT!” My feet are catching on brambles, and my legs are being scratched by thorns as I chase after him. I end up falling behind, after trapping myself in a bramble in my haste. Once I manage to free myself, I sprint in Andrew’s direction, shouting, shouting…
Until I see it.
Alex
One moment I’m calmly telling Harriet that she can’t just keep kissing me and saying she’s sorry, the next I’m being pulled by brute force out of the tree, and falling on my back, winded on the floor. I blink for a moment, and manage to sit myself up. My whole backside aches. Andrew is standing, shaking with fury, as Daisy stands shocked, frozen by the edge of the clearing. I ache so badly, and I feel intensely threatened by my friend…
No.
By the figure standing over me, preparing to punch me square in the chest while I’m on the floor.
