"Hey, watch where you're going!", a student hissed at Kazama as he clashed into him with much force. Kazama mumbled a quick 'sorry' and before the other guy could say anything else, he was already on his way out.
The taps felt light on his feet as his legs strode at a much faster speed. He had bumped into several people already, but he couldn't care less in that moment. He needed to hurry.
He needed to hurry and find Hikari.
The fact that he only got to know about something that Ai told him just now made Kazama wish that he would've talked to Hikari before.
Suddenly, before he knew it, his pace came to a halt too late as he bumped into someone else. Kazama said his expected apologies, having done this numerous time since the morning and continued to step ahead, but his hand got caught just in time.
"Shinnosuke.", he slowly said when he saw who had his wrist in a a familiar hold. "Shouldn't you be in class?", he continued awkwardly, remembering the previous day as fresh as ever.
"I need to talk to you.", Shinnosuke spoke calmly but his mind was going circles on what to do or say. In fact, even holding Kazama's wrist like usual made him nervous, owning to what Hikari has said to him.
Kazama removed his arm from the other's hold and was already walking away, "Sorry, I have to go right now."
"Kazama-kun, wait. It's really important.", Shinnosuke shot another attempt at stopping Kazama while trying to catch up to him.
"It's important for me to be somewhere too.", Kazama quickened his walk without sparing a glance to Shinnosuke, but his friend knew better than to give in that easily. He swiftly moved forward and blocked Kazama with his frame.
"What are you trying to do? Move.", Kazama commanded, getting frustrated at Shinnosuke's actions. He needed to hurry after all, or else he wouldn't be able to fix this mess. If it weren't for Ai, he wouldn't even have known.
"I need to tell you something, Kazama-kun. Listen to me." Shinnosuke demanded back, while grabbing Kazama by his shoulder and moving him to the side, "I need to talk to you about Hikari-kun."
Kazama held back a sarcastic scoff, "Don't worry about this morning. You can talk to whoever you want. Doesn't matter if it's Hikari or anyone else. I mean, everyone's got the right to be friends with anyone they want-"
"No, no. You've got it all wrong. We weren't- Agh!", Shinnosuke winced at his own rambling and took a deep breath to calm the chaotic conversation down, "Hikari, he...he's going away."
Those words made Kazama stop fidgeting instantly. His face fell silent as if trying to process something that didn't fit right.
"You knew?", he asked Shinnosuke in disbelief, because what he had just been told was the same thing that he got to know from Ai. Coming to the conclusion that Shinnosuke knew about this before him was obviously easy, but how in the world did Shinnosuke not tell him about this before.
When Shinnosuke didn't say anything, except for having an expression on his face that clearly said 'confusion', Kazama asked again, "You knew Hikari-kun is going to Germany?"
"Yeah, I know because he told me. Just today!", Shinnosuke stated the obvious impatiently when he realised Kazama thought he was keeping the news from him the whole time, "I just got to know about this today, and this is what he told me to tell you."
"And what, you're his personal messenger or something?", Kazama held back his tone because he knew he was growing upset for no specific reason. He was upset for the simple and stupid reason that he, of all people, didn't know about Hikari's transfer all this time.
