Chapter 19

"What?" Erik asked clearly taken by surprise.

"I said I want to join your team."you replied repeating yourself.

"Ah I see." He said.
" You want to get back at him for blowing you off. This isn't the way to do it. Your life will be in danger. You just graduated it isn't safe. I wouldn't want to put you in harms way. Ever."

"But. I. I want to be stronger. I want to enhance my powers and help. I mean. I'm a mutant too. I want to make it safe for others. Please Erik. You don't have to take me on missions or anything. I could just work Intel or something ya know? Like find out information. I'm very persuasive."

You batted your lashes.

"Well i can see that." He paused and have you a nod," Just promise me you won't leave the property unless you ask permission."

"Yes dad." You groaned.

"Well alright then. I'll be back in the morning to get you."

You jumped up and down with excitement and squeezed Erik as tight as your little body could.

"Thank you Erik!"

He chuckled reluctantly letting you go,
" you're welcome. I'll be back at noon. Please be ready to go so we can head to my place and get started as soon as possible."

You nodded,"aye aye captain." He smiled and left your room. You laid in bed and thought about what you just did and grinned connivingly.

'That'll teach him.' You thought.

You got up to tell your mom you'd be leaving for a 'graduation trip' Luckily she had a new boyfriend to keep her company.

You went back to your room and began packing some clothes. Finally you finished and collapsed into bed and fell asleep.

In the middle of the night you felt a gush of wind.

You stirred a bit. And felt like someone was watching you.

After another gush of wind you shot up and looked around and saw nothing.
Feeling creeping out you turned on your light and saw a note on dresser.

'I love you too much.'

You shrugged, 'mom is such a cornball.' You thought before lying back down and going back to sleep.

In the morning you got ready and everything and were in bed when there was a knock on your door.

"How did you get in? My mom left for work." You asked Erik as you opened your door.

"I have magical magnetic mutant powers remember." He replied winking at you.

"Ah. Anyways I am all ready as requested."
He waved his hand and lifted your bags without touching them and led them to the car.
You looked around your room making sure you didn't forget anything.
You glanced at the note on your nightstand and smiled before grabbing your purse and closing your door to head downstairs.

The car ride to Erik's took about an hour.

The whole time you two laughed and talked while your heart ached for Pietro. You missed him terribly and was still worried about him.

You didn't know how he'd react to you joining Erik's team. You decided to wait to tell him in person.

You constantly texted Pietro all day and scarcely received replies. You decided to bury yourself into the work Erik has set for you to avoid getting too upset.

The next few days people came and went and you enjoyed meeting new people and finding out all their information so you could add it to your notes. Some of them had really cool powers and you enjoyed learning about the different mutations.
It was the eighth day with Erik and you really liked working with him.

You felt like a spy. You texted Pietro most of the time. Once when he called you heard a lady's voice in the background so you just decided to text from then on so you didn't get too upset at him.

You were in your own study laying on the couch half asleep when Erik came in and carried you to your bed.

"Erik. I could have walked ya know." You said while yawning.

"You had a very long and productive day today. You deserve to relax for a day or two. I'm glad you came. You've been such a help." He gently laid you in the bed as if you were made of glass, " you do research, make calls, strategize, do physical therapy, help train, give moral support, give therapy, you clean and you cook. You're one hell of a woman Liliana."

You laughed and he sighed full of content," God I love you." He stopped abruptly realizing his mistake.

"You what?!!" You gasped jumping out of bed.
