"Remind me to never offer to be left alone with you again old man!" You said dryly as you and Joseph stopped to catch your breath. The enemy was nowhere in sight. For now, you were safe.

"Y/n?" Someone asked quietly. You turned around to find a girl. The first thing that struck you was her bright pastel bubblegum pink hair that fell messily around her shoulders. For a moment you were at a loss for words until you realized the bright blue eyes of your student council vice president.

"Londyn...?" You greeted awkwardly.

"Lennia." The girl corrected sadly.

"Right!" With her new appearance you almost didn't recognize her. The change from platinum blonde hair tied neatly into a pony tail to the wild wavy pink you were seeing was jarring. "Fancy seeing you here..."

"You too. I thought you hated coming to the beach during tourist season."

"I do-" You paused abruptly, a strange sense of unease settled into your stomach. "How did you know that?"

"I just heard from some people at school." Lennia quickly justified. She looked over at Joseph who was standing by your side watching the interaction. "Who's this?"

"My-" You glanced at Joseph, a multitude of excuses popping into your head at once. "...nephew."

"A little older than you I see." Lennia commented.

"Yeah, the family tree is real complicated!" You laughed nervously. "I just have to show my dear nephew around."

"I see." Lennia murmured skeptically.

"I noticed you dyed your hair." You said, changing the subject. "Pink really suits you."

"Y-you think so?" Lennia blushed and fiddled with a few stray strands. "Thank you." Before you could come up with a cause to leave the conversation, you heard the enemy's yelling getting closer.

"I'm so sorry, but we have to go!" You explained in a rush, waving as you dragged Joseph with you. "Family... business. Bye!"

Lennia waved back, mildly confused. Joseph followed you down the boardwalk as the two of you weaved through crowds, trying to lose the enemy stand user.

"She was nice." Joseph commented casually.

"I guess. I haven't known her for very long, but yeah, she's nice." You responded, ignoring his attempt at conversation in favor of keeping an eye out for the shadow stand.

"You have got to be kidding me." Joseph looked offended when you only responded to his statement with a blank stare. "Are you being serious? It's painfully obvious she likes you."

"...what?" You questioned, mind completely short circuiting. "Lennia?"

"Who else would I be talking about!?"

"Sorry! Its just-" You went back to your past interactions with the girl, understanding dawning on you the more you thought about it. The way her face lit up with a blush whenever you were around, how she stumbled over her words, her attempts to hang out with you more. You were so stupid. "I never noticed."

"This is an issue for some other time!" Joseph screeched, pulling you from your spiraling train of thought.

"Right!"  You nodded. When you continued looking for a way to get out of the situation, you met eyes with the enemy.

"Get back here!" He yelled, running straight towards you, his shadow lunging towards your feet.

"Don't let his shadow touch you!" You shouted, shoving Joseph so he could avoid the stand. Without many other options, you summoned Golden Soul and had your stand punch the shadow. It didn't seem to do anything except make you feel like you just punched concrete.
