I know it's been months and also a reference from one of my favourite barbie movies because I want to.

Whack.

Whack.

Whack.

Hearing the horsewhip hitting the skin hearing, her mother's screams echoed throughout the room like a banshee screaming through the night. The sound of thunder crashed down, briefly lighting up the room and showing the figure of the Duke steering down at the helpless Maximilian, his cold eyes pinned down at her like a snake eyeing his prey.

In the corner of the room, Lucina watched the whole scene sitting on the floor with her knees tucked to her Chin as one hand clutched mini talon as right as she could as the other hand covered her mouth, trying not to cry her grandfather always said what child would want her that cries. Other nasty names he always said to his only grandchild.

Lucina heard the sound of the whip again and again, but it still terrified her of the sight of her grandfather, her little heartbeat in her chest, ad her dark eyes opened in horror, trying her best not to vomit or scream.

As Lucina heard the sound of the horsewhip and the crash of thunder Lucina opened her eyes and sat up on her bed trying to catch her breath as her tiny heart beat out of her chest as she looked around to the safety in the familiarity of her bedroom and realised it was just a nightmare but it felt so real her dark eyes filling with tears.

But she was not a bit shocked at the gory sight around her it was a sight she was so used to as long as she could remember her mother as the mercy of her grandfather, the red lash scars covered with blood on her mother's back she witnessed time again as long as could remember.

But she was safe in the stone walls of her father's castle, away from her evil grandfather and the evil whip.

She couldn't go to sleep. What if she had a nightmare? Her nursemaid usually put her to bed early, finishing her shifts a few hours ago. Lucina wanted comfort, some feeling of love to keep her from not having another nightmare. She could go to her mummy and love her deeply; in Lucina's mind, she could not protect her because she was weak the only person she could think of was her dad.

Lucina had grown to love him, one of the very few people who had ever been kind to her and made sure his precious little daughter had every single luxury she could ever ask for.

" I have to find daddy". Lucina thought to herself.

Lucina went to the wooden door of her room and looked up at the door handle that her tiny arm couldn't reach. Lucina tried to jump as high as she could, trying her best to get the handle on her petite body to no avail.

Lucina looked around her bedroom to find something to help her open the door, but all she could see were her books and toys scattered around her room until she found a simple wooden chair that caught her eye.

With all her strength in her tiny body, Lucina pushed the chair as she grunted, trying to get it to the door. Then climbed up on top of the chair, and with one jump, Lucina grabbed the door handle and yanked it open. Not Hervey she thought the door was.

She walked around in the castle hallways in every room she could think of, trying to find her dad while hiding from the servants passing by; her bear feed echoed the floor, wearing her silk nightgown with mini talon in her arms.

Lucina reached the dining room and stopped as her head peaked behind the door to see her father's knights chatting to each other but not the happy and warm energy she was used to witnessing she vibe felt sten and a bit cold.

Her father was talking about something, but she was not sure something about leaving Anatol in three days. She continued to listen to their conversation; the king summoned her father and his men to go in three days. Lucina felt a pain in her chest dad was leaving. She didn't want him to leave. She feared that her grandfather would come to take her and mummy away or that an intruder would break into the castle. Anything could happen. Many things ran into Lucina's head in all the different scenarios, making her feel dizzy.
