chapter four ~ you're scaring me

"Huh," Dean said as they walked just outside the trailer.
"What?" Haven asked him.
Dean shrugged, "Sam's whole 'I don't want to go back to school' thing. Were you just saying that to Cooper or you know, saying it, Sam?"
"I don't know," Sam said.
"You don't know. Well, I thought that once the demon was dead and that lady sings, you were gonna take off and head back to wussy state?" Dean explained.
"I'm having second thoughts," Sam confessed.
The trio stopped walking as Haven looked towards Sam, "Really? Not go back to Stanford?"
Sam nodded, "Yeah, I think. Dad would've wanted me to stick with the job."
"Since when do you give a damn what Dad wanted?" Dean asked. "You spent half your life doing exactly what he didn't want, Sam."
"Since he died," Sam argued. "Ok? You have a problem with that?"
Dean shook his head, "Nah, I don't have a problem with it." The oldest Winchester walked off, leaving the duo behind him.
Sam looked towards the witch beside him causing her to sigh and give a sarcastic tone, "Yeah, yeah, I got it. Let me fix all your problems."

Haven and Dean stood beside a dumpster in red bomber jackets reading 'Cooper Carnival' on the back. Trash bags and clippers occupied their hands as they picked up fallen trash throughout the dirt lot. Dean had an EMF reader under his jacket with headphones attached while Haven tapped into her powers, having them on high alert, but keeping them invisible to the naked eye.
Dean couldn't take one more second of the girl's silence, "Alright, just say it."
"Say what?" She asked, still picking up trash.
"Come on, you know you want to rip into me," Dean told her. "Lay it on me, I'm an ass to Sam and you. I need to lay off Sam with Dad's death or I should stay away from Jo. Say something, anything."
Haven stopped and looked at him, "Why? You'll still do it again. You'll yell at Sam in the next day or two. You'll hook up with more girls while I'm not around. I don't control you, Dean, so therefore why tell you to stop? Plus, you were the one who ended it officially."
