chapter twenty-eight ~ tall tales

King's Lair Hotel

Sam rubbed his eyes in annoyance at Dean's loud music and obnoxious chewing from his spot researching on the couch. He finally looked over to notice where Dean was sitting, "Dude, you mind not eating those on my bed?"

The oldest Winchester reached down and grabbed another sloppy chili fry, "No, I don't mind." He chewed loudly before going back to his magazine, "How's research going?"

"You know how it's going? Slow," Sam slammed the book he had shut. "You know how it would go a heck of a lot faster? If I had my computer!"

"Oh my god," Haven groaned as she rolled over on the opposite bed to look at the boys. "Will you two stop yelling?" The boys both rolled their eyes and scoffed at her but not saying anything else. The witch then noticed how loud Dean's music was, "Could you turn that down, Winchester?"

"Yeah, sure, babe," Dean didn't look up as he reached over and turned the knob the other way, making the music even louder.

Haven rolled her eyes before flicking her wrist, the radio flying across the room to the opposite wall and shattering.

As the two started bickering, Sam sat up in annoyance, "You know, maybe you two should uh, go somewhere for a while. Talk it out, away from me?"

"I really don't want to hear it from you, Samuel," Haven snapped.

Dean looked to his brother, "Hey, I'd love to take this elsewhere. That's a great idea. Unfortunately, my car's all screwed to hell!"

"Dean, I told you, I have nothing to do wi-" A knocking at the door interrupted Sam causing him to get up and answer it, Dean still eating his chili fries.

"You're disgusting," Haven shivered at the sight before looking away, Dean just shrugging.

Sam looked through the door's peephole before opening the door to reveal a familiar face. "Hey, Bobby."

The old man walked through the door with a smile at the sight of the three, "Hey, boys. Haven."

"Hey, Bobby," Haven got up from her spot and moved to hug the man while Dean also stood up from the bed. "Thanks for coming."

"Good to see you guys again so soon," Bobby smiled at the hunters.

Bobby moved to Dean and shook his hand as Dean smiled, "Thank God you're here."
