I knew she was paranoid she had a deep-seated fear of zombies.
"Lee Yam-di, mwol saenggak-hago isseotseo, eung?" I asked, my voice laced with a mixture of frustration and amusement.
I leaned against the wall my back aching my mind racing I needed to get out of here.
"Ani, ani, ani," she said, her voice filled with a mixture of fear and despair.
I knew I had to comfort her I had to be the strong one I had to be the leader but I was scared too I walked towards her my arm reaching out to touch her shoulder.
"Bwa, sigan-i eolma eopseo. Yeogiseo ppalli nagaya dwae," I said, my voice filled with a mixture of urgency and determination.
She nodded, her eyes filled with trust.
I wrapped my right arm around her shoulder and we walked towards the others she held my right hand her fingers intertwined with mine.
"Dadeul deul-eo-bwa. Uri-neun ganeunghan han ppalli yeogiseo tteonaya hae," I said, my voice firm, my eyes scanning the room.
"Ya, Yam-di, uri banjang Yangnuk A-jan-hantte gakkai gaji ma," Jong-geyun said, his voice laced with a mixture of annoyance and possessiveness.
"Mwodeunji, gongpo-bot," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
I glared at him while my eyes burning with anger.
"Gyehoeg isseo, eung?" A woman shouted, her voice filled with a mixture of frustration and anger.
"Ya, manghal meongcheongan neulgeun yeojaya, eotteoke gamhi uri banjang-hantte sori jireul su isseo, eung?" Yu-ri snapped, her voice laced with a mixture of anger and disdain.
She pushed the woman to the floor her movements swift and forceful.
"Neo bumo-nim-i geureoke gareuchyeotseo, eung?" the woman said, her voice a mixture of anger and disbelief.
I smirked while my eyes gleaming with amusement.
"Ne cha-rye-ya," I said while I released my right hand.
She walked towards the woman sitting on the floor.
"Uri-neun godeung gyo-yuk-eul bad-atjiman, ttae-ttaero saiko-pae-seu-ga doe-gido hae. Naega ne ttal-i-eotdamyeon eotteoke haesseul geot gat-a?" Yam-di said to the woman while she sit down on the floor.
"Nae-cchwo-beoril geo-ya!" The woman scoffed while Yam-di stepped back suddenly Daree Seol-young and Daree Sol-yong quickly restrained her.
"Yaedulea, i manghal meongcheongan neulgeun yeojareul eotteoke halji saenggak-hago isseo," Lee Yam-di said, standing up and putting her hands on her hips.
"Geureom mwoya, Yam-di?" Yuri piped up while I winced in pain again it was time to change my bandage.
"I manghal meongcheongan neulgeun yeojahan-te ui-jareul gajyeo-da jwo," Yam-di ordered, nodding seriously.
"Lim Eul-hwa, Lim Joon-tong, batjul-eul chaja," I instructed, and they nodded.
I walked towards the man earlier after a few seconds later on he turned to look at me while his expression neutral.
"Geogiseo museun iri ireona-go inneun geo-ya?" He asked.
Wait he looked familiar could he be the guy I saved at the coffee shop?
What a coincidence.
"Geunyeoga... Nareul moyokhaesseo," I explained.
He nodded, still with that unreadable expression.
"Geul-sse, Chu yeosa-nim-eun dareun saramdeul-e-geneun maeum-i eop-eosseotjiman, ttal-i isseotseo," he said, I felt a strange urge to listen to him.
"Geunyeoui ttal-e-ge museun iri ireona-sseo?" I asked, curious.
I had no idea she even had a daughter she seemed so incredibly sad.
"Bihaeng-gi sagoyeo-sseo. Eomma-reul nollaekyeo jureo-go haesseotji," he said.
I quickly retracted my earlier judgment I realized I shouldn't judge people so quickly there was always more to the story the truth was she hated us because of her daughter's death.
"Eunggeopcheochi kiteu isseo?" I asked, my vision blurring I could barely hear him speaking.
"Kaebi-nit an-e isseo," he said.
I gave him a weak smile and headed for the cabinet as I opened it my left side stomach protested loudly ouch I muttered willing it to calm down.
I grabbed the First Aid Kit and closed the cabinet.
I turned and walked back to the stock room not bothering to close the door I opened the kit then unbuttoned my uniform and carefully removed.
The bandage ouch I grimaced as my left side throbbed the pain seemed to be getting worse.
"Huin-ot," I mumbled, frustrated that my uniform was already stained with blood.
Bangsik Suk-young’s touch had startled me igniting something primal within I felt like a beast cornered and he had unknowingly pushed me to the edge.
"Naega do-wajulge. Na igeo eotteoke ha-neunji ara," he had said, his confidence almost irritating.
I had brushed him off but deep down I knew he was right.
The sharp pain in my side reminded me that I needed assistance but my pride and fear held me back.
Oh I forgot he take medic which means a doctor but me?
I don't know what job I'll get... I'm not just a kid who can only dream.
Or maybe my dad rinse me with not to much give attention to me it's always Yu-ri?
But now I realized that I don't have right to call him any such stupid name.
"Eotteoke ireoke doen geo-ya, eung? A-jane," Bangsik Suk-young asked, peering down at my wound.
My stomach growled loudly I was starving he was pressing too hard on my open wound.
"A-ya, jom budeureopge hae jul-lae? Deo akhwa-doe-go isseo!" I winced, pushing his hand away.
I looked up at him my face a mixture of curiosity and pain I heard him swallow loudly wait why did I suddenly feel this urge to eat him alive?
No that couldn't be right I couldn't be infected I turned away fighting the overwhelming craving maybe this was just a symptom I needed medicine for.
"Da dwaesseo. A-jan, nae mal deutgo isseo?" He said, gently placing his hand on my shoulder.
I reacted instantly grabbing his right wrist with my own.
"Manjiji ma! Geurigo dangjang naga!" I shouted, my voice deep and forceful.
I was sorry, Suk-young but I needed him to stay away from me.
"Gwaenchaneunji bolge," he insisted.
I glared at him my expression unreadable I tightened my grip around his neck.
"Nagara-go haetji! Naga! Jigeum dangjang!" I commanded, my voice shaking slightly.
The more he scared the more I wanted to devour him but I knew I couldn't I released my grip suddenly he leaned in and kissed me on the lips.
I was stunned I stood there frozen my eyes wide with shock his... I don't know how to explain it also.
I didn't know what to do my body was tingling with a strange mix of fear and something else primal and unsettling I pushed him away my hands trembling.
"Mwo ha-neun geo-ya, dodaeche?" I whispered, my voice barely a croak.
He just laughed a low rumbling sound.
"Neo mas-isseo," he said, his eyes gleaming with a strange light.
Then a wave of dizziness I staggered back my vision blurring.
"Naga! Dangjang!" I whispered, my voice fading.
