He dodged my attack his movements swift and precise almost inhuman I couldn't believe how skilled he was.
Before I could punch him he restrained me his left hand gripping my arm with a force that sent a jolt of pain through my body.
I couldn't breathe then I remembered something.
"Bi-hwal-seong-hwa!" I shouted, my voice a desperate plea.
He dropped me while his body starting to smoke his movements becoming jerky and erratic.
"Geuga robot-ira-goneun saeng-gak mot haesseo," Yangnuk Ah-jane said, her voice laced with a mixture of surprise and disbelief.
"Naega neo-e-ge jun geol gi-eokhae!" He said, his voice a mechanical rasp.
Something was off I raised my AR:M4 my finger hovering over the trigger.
"Neon geuge heodokje-라고 haetjan-a!" She said, her voice laced with a hint of confusion.
What antidote? Wait these two weren't on our side I knew it they were liars they couldn't be trusted.
"Ne, geugeon ba-ireoseu rebeol 3-eseoneun chiryo-hal su eopseo," he said, his voice devoid of emotion.
I didn't understand what the hell he was talking about.
"Geuman yeon-gihae, Yangnuk Ah-jane," I said, my voice firm, my AR:M4 pointed at her.
She turned to me, her face a mixture of fear and defiance.
"Wa! Geugeon nega saeng-gakha-neun ge aniya, Jin-hun," she said, her voice laced with a hint of desperation.
"Seolmyeonghage hae-jwo," I didn't trust her she was pretending to be innocent.
"Naega na anieotseumyeon, neohwi modeu geunyeo ttaemune jombi-ga doeotseul geo-ya," Hong Nan-jo said, his voice a mechanical rasp.
"Hajiman heodokje-neun botong heodokje-ga anieotseo. Aekche chujeok jangchi-yeotseo" I turned to look at Yangnuk Ah-jane, my eyes narrowed with suspicion.
"Dakchyeo!" I shouted, my AR:M4 pointed at him this jerk should be dead by now.
"Jeongjeongdangdanghage ssawa, Park Jin-hun," he said, his voice devoid of emotion.
I threw away my AR:M4 and lunged at him, my fists clenched, my anger boiling over. He twisted my arm, his movements swift and precise.
"Geumanhae! Park Jin-hun, jigeum kal naer-yeono-go nal jug-iri-yeogo haji ma!" Min Cha-young shouted, her voice laced with a mixture of anger and concern.
"God nae bokje-chega natana-seo neohwi jung myeoch myeong-eul de-ryeogal geo-ya," Hong Nan-jo said, his voice devoid of emotion.
Min Cha-young walked towards him her eyes fixed on him her hand reaching for her gun she pointed it at his forehead and shot him she started to lead the way.
But suddenly she collapsed I quickly caught her my arms wrapping around her my heart pounding in my chest then a loud bang a deafening roar that sent a wave of shock through my body.
I turned to see Hong Nan-jo's clone his face a mirror image of the original his eyes glowing red he punched me in the face sending me reeling.
The other Hong Nan-jo threw an M84 Flash Grenade at us the air filling with a blinding light and a deafening roar.
I couldn't hear anything.
I couldn't see anything.
I felt a liquid splash on my forehead.
My eyesight slowly started to fade a few minutes later on I blinked until adjust the bright light of the sun.
I stood up and looked around wait where was Min Cha-young, Yangnuk Ah-Jane, Choi Kim-suk, Cha Soo-yoon, and Kyong Nam-mun?
Did I hallucinations right now.
I turned to look at the others my heart pounding in my chest.
"Yaedul-a! Jeong-sin charyeo!" I shouted, my voice filled with a mixture of desperation and fear.
I heard a familiar voice I turned to see Chenul Joo-min her face a mixture of concern and relief.
"Jin-hun, kkae-ona-gil gidae-rigo isseotseo" Chenul Joo-min walked towards me her arms opening wide for a hug.
I felt a rush of warmth as she enveloped me but my mind was racing desperate for answers.
"Geudeul-eul eo-di-ro de-ryeogasseo?" I asked, pulling away to look into her eyes.
She released me and turned to face me, her expression serious.
"Geudeul-eun apeuro gatgo, naega neo-e-ge malhaeya hal ge isseo" she pointed to the footprints leading away from where I lay.
"Mwoya?" I asked, my heart pounding with curiosity and concern.
"Na... Na... Na... Ne a-gi-reul imsinhaesseo," she said, her voice trembling.
What? Did I hear her right? My heart raced a mix of disbelief and hope flooding my chest.
"Mianhande, dasi hanbeon malhaejulrae?" I stammered, trying to process what she just said was she lying?
"Na ne a-gi-reul imsinhaesseo!!!" She repeated, her eyes shining with a mix of excitement and fear.
Oh I was going to be a dad soon the weight of the world felt lighter for a fleeting moment but it was quickly.
Overshadowed by the urgency of our situation just then my dad appeared his face a mask of concern.
"Yeogiseo daeche museun iri isseotdeon geo-ya? Min Cha-young-eun eodie isseo?" I turned to him keeping my expression neutral.
"Geudeul-i uri-e-gese deo-ryeogasseo," she replied, glancing at her.
Why did she cover for me? I was supposed to tell my dad.
"Naega geudeul-i eo-di-ro de-ryeogatneunji ara," Lee Dong-tae chimed in, his voice strained as he pressed an ice bag to his head.
"Jeo nal-geun geonmul-e isseo," he handed me a monitor and I nodded taking it from him with a sense of urgency.
After a few minutes later on we arrived at the site my heart sank the place was a wreck haunting the monitor displayed static the signal redirected.
"Ja, ije gaya hae," Xavier Suárez said, tapping my right shoulder with his left hand.
I felt his reassurance but the weight of responsibility pressed heavily on my chest.
"Idongha-ja," I said, my voice steady as I took the lead.
I glanced back at Joo-mi with a mixture of hope and fear swirling in my chest I had to protect her to protect our future.
Our footsteps bounced off the crumbling walls and I felt the urgency of the moment well, I hope they are safe wherever they are now.
2 year later
Two years had passed I held our son Park Jin-min a year old now close to my chest his tiny hand gripping my shirt.
His innocent eyes a mirror of his mother's gazed up at me with a trusting smile his warmth a comforting presence.
"Sonja jom ana-bol su isseul-kka?" My dad's voice broke through my reverie.
I nodded, handing Jin-min to him his wrinkled face softening with love.
"Sajang-nim, Min Cha-yeong-gwa dareun saram-deul-i waseoyo," Cyrup Dae-jung announced, his voice laced with a mix of excitement and relief.
I turned to Joo-mi, my heart pounding with anticipation.
