THE ANOKI GIRL STOOD IN FRONT OF THE TROPHY CASE, HER EYES GLUED TO A PICTURE OF HER PARENTS AND GODFATHER. She looked at them in their fencing uniforms happy as ever. The name 'Sengali Blackrock' was in gold lettering beneath her mother, her sleek black hair shone in the monotone picture, same with her tanned skin. The necklace that Vesta now wore was worn by her mother in the picture. Beside her stood a taller man with dark skin and even darker hair, 'Vulcan Anoki' His name read. His strong arm was wrapped around her mother, and both of them wore blinding smiles. A little in the back towering over everybody stood her godfather his lanky build made him fit awkwardly in the flame. 'Mercury Frump.' Frump, she repeated in her head. What an odd name. I understand why he changed it.

She had thought of all the times that Mercury had told her stories about him and her parents became friends because of the odd coincidence that he and her father had been named after Roman gods. She walked to the fencing room, grabbed her uniform and needle as she got dressed, and stood on a mat in the empty room. She threw her helmet on the floor getting into the starting stance that Yoko and Marina had taught her. She sighed, taking a few steps forward before taking one back, slashing the needle as if an opponent was there. Vesta kept at it, determined to become better than she was at the beginning of the school year. She huffed as she rolled her ankle slightly, stumbling once again.

She got back up again.

Xavier stood in his studio in a trance-like state, a large canvas sat on his easel and his paintbrush glided across it. A figure began to appear on it, a bronze-skinned girl with her hair up, a white fencing uniform draped over her features. A fencing needle was in her hand, pointed at nothing. He had picked up a larger brush, painting a golden light cast over her features. He had looked closer at her noticing the small amulet he had painted.

Vesta.

He thought. He quickly rooted through his supplies, picking up a tarp big enough to cover the painting. He threw it over the painting, cleaning up his supplies and putting them up as neatly as he could, before walking out, and jogging back over to the school.

Vesta was bent over, her hands on her knees as Marina helped her stand up straight, her red curls bouncing in her face as she pushed back the brunette's hair

Vesta was bent over, her hands on her knees as Marina helped her stand up straight, her red curls bouncing in her face as she pushed back the brunette's hair. "You have to stay firm on your toes, and stop moving your entire body, just try moving your torso, or just your head." She nodded, taking her stance at her side of the mat, lowering her needle to rest between the girls. Marina lunged at Vesta, swiping at her neck, She backed up, moving her head backward to avoid the lunge. Vesta moved forward, stabbing at Marina's chest, missing greatly as the redhead turned sideways, avoiding the blow. Marina stepped forward quickly, making a great few swipes, all of which Vesta managed to block with her own needle. Marina lunged toward Vesta's chest as she tired out, the needle poking her for the third or fourth time.

"Better!" She cheered, clapping her hands happily as she took Vesta's hands in her own, her claws coming out as she jumped around.

"Oh sorry Ves, did I hurt you?" She asked, backing up as she looked at her nails.

"No, don't worry. C'mon, let's get back to the dorms."

Vesta stood on the narrow balcony outside the only window in her room, her sketchbook in her lap as she looked at the high moon. Nevermore was a beautiful school in her opinion. The unique color palette and architecture made for a good reference as she drew the other towers. She thought about that photo from before and all the others. In most of the photos, Mercury was present with another woman who shared his old last name and was usually front and center. Morticia, She thought. He never mentioned a Morticia, ever. The Anoki girl pulled out her phone, and pressed on his contact typing out a message to send him.

Who is Morticia?

My amazing and super cool twin sister.

who hates my guts with a passion!

She sighed, placing her phone back down. Mercury had been alone aside from her and Neptune after their parents passing. Vesta couldn't imagine what its like having a family there the whole time who wanted nothing to do with you.
