It was a chilly October night. Trees were shedding their leaves. The environment was silent, except for some crickets chirping and some owls hooting. There was not much going on–Portland gets really cold this time of the year, so people preferred not to roam out at night. Same was the case with Harrison and Bianca, who were in their dorm room, studying for tomorrow's test.

"...and then you multiply it by the area of the cross section that's in contact with the water," Harrison explained to her, " and that's your formula for drag force on a boat. Got it?"

"Yep," replied Bianca. In reality, she hardly paid any attention to him. She knew everything that there was to study. She was a straight-A student. Why, then, did she need Harrison's help? That's because those were not the questions she wanted to ask him.

"Hey, uh, you good?" Harrison asked. Bianca had zoned out and just staring off into space. He snapped his fingers in front of her.

"Oh, um, yeah," she responded. "I'm fine."

"Well," he said, "anything else you wanna ask?"

"Yeah, there is." She then grabbed his hands.

Harrison got a bit red at this. "Wh–What are you doing?:

It started raining. Really heavily.

Bianca took a deep breath. "Harrison. William. Kelly. I need to tell you this. I like you. More than just friends. I. Like. You."

Harrison was just silent at this. He didn't know what to think of this. "Well," he said after a few minutes of silence, "I don't really know what to say. I... I'm flattered, but... I don't think that I like you back that way."

Bianca got a little upset at that. "I see."

"No no," Harrison tried to explain, " it's nothing against you. You're smart, fun to hang out with, really intelligent, got a really nice collection of Pokémon cards, it's just that... I don't really know how to describe it, but what you feel for me, I've never been able to feel for anyone. Never in my 21 years of life have I ever felt that way."

Bianca stayed silent. The aura in the room started feeling awkward. The sound of thunder filled the room. That noise was expected in a thunderstorm. What was NOT expected was to see a rock crashing through their window, almost taking out Harrison. The rock did not hit anyone, but a glass shard from the window pane flew and made a cut in Bianca's head.

"Fuck!" cursed Bianca.

Harrison's eyes just got really wide, and ran to his room to grab the medical supplies Chloe gave him. He took out a bottle of Dettol disinfectant and diluted it a little. He dipped a wad of cotton in it, then cleaned the wounds out.

"Shit–fuck!" She yelled again.

"Sit still," Harrison said calmly. "It's not a very deep wound. Just stay calm."

Bianca sat still and took deep breaths. Harrison cleaned the wound and put a band-aid on her wound.

"There. All set."

Then, another rock hit the window, but it didn't harm anyone.

"Now what was that again," he asked. He opened the curtains and saw flashes of orange being pelted by some kids on the campus. "Oh god, that poor person. I should go help them."

"Harrison NO," Bianca yelled out but it was of no use. He had already run out of the dorm and out onto the park.

"He's going to get killed."

Outside, the flashes of orange had run out, and it was just three college kids surrounding something. And they were kicking that something. Harrison yelled out to them.
