I stood with Joan and Anakin waiting for Pike to return with Bellamy. Ten guns against 300 warriors who have never held a gun. I knew what the outcome would be.

"Yu ste betfou Belomi don sheik klin gon dison(Are you sure Bellamy agreed to this)?" Joan asked, and I nodded. "Em nou gada bilaik som em na dula op(It doesn't seem like something he would do)."

The gate opened as Pike returned with the rest of his men. I couldn't believe that I almost agreed to go with them, and now Pike thought I was a traitor. It looked like the Grounders put up a good fight, but everyone knew that the peacekeeping force didn't stand a chance.

Octavia and I stepped forward to talk to Bellamy. "Bellamy, you ok?" Octavia asked.

"I'm fine." He brushed her off.

"What happened out there?" Octavia asked as the two of us followed Bellamy. He gave us the cold shoulder. I grabbed his arm trying to get him to turn back to us, but his fist clamped tightly on my wrist. He glared down at me before pushing me away and turning around.

"Stumucha! Hedsweda! Planhaka! Foka! Hoada! Neindropen! Odokrek!" I called to him, yelling out any insults I could think of. Octavia gave me a pissed-off look. "Sorry."

Pike came through the gate proud of accomplishment. He had a smile on his face as he ordered, "Lock it up!"

Sky people lingered around Pike and his men, worried from seeing the blood and scars in their vests. "Everybody, listen up," Pike announced. He stepped onto a platform to be seen by everyone. "Twenty-four hours ago, you elected me your chancellor. Every action I've taken since, and every action I will take, will be to achieve one sacred goal. The creation of a self-sustaining, prosperous, and safe Arkadia." The crowd cheered and agreed.

"This morning, on a muddy field, our people paid tribute to those who have been taken from us by sending a message to the Grounders. This land is ours now. Resist and you will be met by force. Fight and you will be greeted by death. Today is a new beginning. Mark it down, remember it just like the Grounders will remember it."

Cheering erupted from the crowd, and I couldn't take it anymore. "Yu teik oso ogeda ona heri sich, en kyongedakru na frag oso op(You put us all in danger, and the Grounders will wipe us out)!" I announced. The few people who knew Trig well enough looked at me waiting for me to continue. That was Lincoln, Octavia, Joan, Anakin, and Kane.

Pike looked at me through the crowd. "You have something to say to me, Miss Kane?" Pike pushed. I walked through the crowd with my sword, and people immediately cleared the way for me.

"Show how strong you are by standing down," a voice said. It was the same voice that spoke to me yesterday, the familiar sound that could never leave me alone. I ignored the voice.

"Sha... taim ai frag yu op, ai na get klin em ste laufoud(Yes... when I kill you, I will make sure it is painful)." Pike didn't look scared of me, and despite not knowing what I said, he knew my threat was serious when Lincoln and Kane had to grab my arms to keep me away from Pike. "Breik ai au(Let me go)," I demanded.

Kane pulled me away from the new chancellor and dragged me inside. "What is wrong with you!" Kane demanded. He shoved me through the door of his unit. "You can't just go around and threaten to kill people."

I scoffed. "Isn't that what happened on the Ark? Isn't that what you did for the entire time you were on the Council? Or when you were acting chancellor?"

Kane shut the door and crossed his arms. "That was different. We were trying to keep ourselves alive and--"

"And I'm trying to keep myself alive," I blurted out. "No one here sees me as Skaikru. They see me as a Grounder. The one who hijacked a pod to go to Earth. The girl who took the easy way out.
