I was hiding in a tree, looking over the city of Polis. It used to look so lively, but now it was cold and dead. It would take a lot to rebuild this city to the happy one is used to be.
I heard the sound of the rover, and I saw the headlights coming to a stop right below where I rested. I immediately dropped down in front of them when I saw Clarke. "Jules!" she called, running to me and pulling me into a tight hug.
"Where's Luna?" I asked her. The look she gave me told me everything. Luna said no. I opened my mouth to speak, but I quickly stopped when I glanced back at the rover. She had a plan, and I trusted that it could work even if it did involve Ontari.
Clarke walked past me and to the edge of the hill where she could see Polis. I watched the rover, and Bellamy, Octavia, Miller, Bryan, Joan, and Anakin climbed out along with another Grounder.
It was Roan. He approached me. "Fragheda, haven't seen you in a while," he said.
"It's the Aznofa," I sneered.
"It's Azhefa," he corrected.
"Yeah, and I'm Skaiplana. Not Fragheda," I spat out. I could tell he wasn't chipped, and for that, I trusted him.
"All right, this is where we split up," Roan said. "The entrance to the tunnel is right over there."
"They know where it is," I said.
Clarke approached Roan. I hoped this plan would work. "I'm gonna need the Flame," Roan said. Clarke was hesitant to give it up. "Look, this only works if they send Ontari out to get it. If they don't see it, they won't do that. Not much of a trap without the bait." Finally, Clarke nodded and handed over the Flame.
"But I'm coming with you," Clarke said.
"No way. That is not the plan," Bellamy said.
"It is now. I'm not letting that out of my sight. And I'm the only one who knows the passphrase. So you can tell them that without me, Ontari can't ascend."
Roan nodded. "You'll need to look like my prisoner."
"Ok."
"Wait a second. Give us a minute," Bellamy said, pulling Clarke away. "Come on, Clarke. You're really willing to trust that guy with your life?" Bellamy looked at me. "When we first landed on Earth, I would've trusted Jules with your life more than I trust Roan now."
"You're right," Clarke said. "I don't. But you'll be covering us the entire time. And I trust you."
I didn't know what the original plan was, but the new one seemed like a good idea, so I followed the group through the tunnels searching for an area where we could cover Clarke.
She was bound by the hands and currently walking through Polis with Roan while the rest of us started getting into position.
We turned down some corridors with flashlights. "This way," Bellamy motioned, and we were in a room with windows that would allow us to watch Clarke and Roan. "This is it. Get these grids over."
Miller and Bellamy pulled open the grids on the windows. Guns were aimed through the windows.
"Are we ever gonna be done fighting?" Bryan asked, and no one knew how to answer the question. But Miller answered it trying to stay positive.
"Hell yes. We're gonna build a house on a lake. You're gonna plant corn."
"And raise chickens," Bryan added.
"Yeah. And grow old."
"Blodon," Joan said. "Yu don hon noni op(Did you find Dad)?" She asked, worry in her voice.
