Chapter 6

Katy's P.O.V

Weeks later
December 31st

6 am

I hear John laugh and I jump freaked out

" oh sorry if that woke you up"

" it's ok, what time is it"

" six am"

" oh what were you laughing about"

" just this picture my brother sent me of us when we were kids"

He turns his phone so I could see this picture and I laugh

" Kate it's the 31st"

" New Year's Eve and Grace's birthday in 2 days"

" plans?" He asks

" my family and friends are coming over tonight and for Graces birthday I've got a surprise"

" cool and what's the surprise"

" we're going ta Disney World"

" oh she's gonna love it"

" yeah everything you do is great"

I smile at John

" well we gotta get things done"

I say as I get up and go to the bathroom. i finish brushing my teeth and hear some giggles
in the room

" well well look who's awake"

" mommy!" grace runs up to me

" hey sweetie"

I say and she smiles

" John could you get some things from the grocery store near by"

" sure and I think I'll go walking"

" ok take the kids with you"

He nods and I go to Hope's room

" good morning baby girl" I say to Hope as she giggles in bed and I pick her up

She lays her head on the crook of my neck and I walk down the stairs and Grace follows

" down to clean the place up, the whole family is coming over for New Year's Eve tonight"

" and Ella?"

" yes baby, Stella's coming" I say with a sigh

" you ok?" She asks

" I'm fine" I say as I walk my way down the stairs

I get down to the living room and lay Hope on one of the couches with the tv on Disney Chanel and Grace sitting next to Hope as I clean the house.

I finish organizing the living room and head to the kitchen and prepare some things we already have

I walk towards the back of the house to where the pool is and where the garden is to make sure everything's great and safe also in place.

After checking on everything I go back inside and take my phone out about to text Shannon

As I was about to start typing John comes down the stairs

" come on kiddo let's go"

" where" she asks

" we're gonna buy some things" without saying a word she gets up and puts a jacket on and her pink converse

John puts Hope in her stroller and he leaves space down to put the groceries he'll get
